Dark n Beautiful Feb 2014
I woke up to another month,
In another year,
and nothing seem to change
the wintry cold, the eastern wind
the older it gets

nothing seem to change,
but this confounded weather
Goodbye January
Please enter Ms. February
Please show us some love and harmony.

Heavy winter snow

The snow on the street
looks so depressing
Black oily piles in
so many places,
the drains
the side walk
not even a living creature in sight

I ponder'd about frozen bodies
under the sad looking pile
I long for the island sun, the warmth,
and the fresh misty air
One might say who cares
But today I care when
I saw the looks upon their faces,

As the cold ripped through they flimsy clothing
then I thought about life
what is the purpose of existence?
when the other half is living
and the other sufferers
In silence

A devilish change indeed
I've seen the Oppressor's cruel words
I looked into their eyes and smile
~~
My granddad most memorable words
Look into their eyes and smile my child
Never bow your head unless it’s to pray
~~
They might have a running feud with you
Not you with them
folks fight their own demon within

It’s the tainted smell from the blood
Of the beast as it washes our dark street
And clog our drains with shame and stains

Obnoxious things that would never go away
In this age of time:
because off the vitriolic hatred and bigotry
which often lead to hate words and crime
~
Granddad said he drank, talk and laugh
with them at the pub
and watch as the rats nibble at their faces
As they fall into the ditches in society fueding
about the black race.

However, a rat isn’t going to bite you
You unless he feel threaten.
so small point keep on smiling

It’s in the heart of the winter,
Spring is so far away,
The foggy cloud,
competes with the cold misty rain
And here we are once again,
~
I ran my fingers through my soft hair
as your breathe a timely hissed, hissed
So steamy, so inviting
down my neck while caressing my face
back, my buttocks
with tingling sparkle of spray
~
My body is warm and yet its shivers
the scent of lavender, and peppermint
Circle the air with a comforting feel
I looked at that size of its head
And shout
Shiver- me –timber
~

What did Guru the Monk whisper in my ear
He said "why mimic the soul of a fool
the fool is between heaven and hell

You embrace the light
he lived in darkness
Why mimic the soul of a foul

Every man thinks he is wiser than his neighbor
his house is adjacent and both lawns merge
with his Academic Achievement;
he is still an undergraduate

What did Guru the Monk whisper in my ear?
"My sister each website has an owner
each owner has an agenda
he provides the stars
but withheld the moon.

Your soul shines through everything
you touch, say or do.
blessed my child;
"Your mama didn't
raise a fool

January
winter objectivity
the coldest month of the year
a month that bring most folks to tears
Wooly shawls, fluffy robes
doggy ears slippers struggles
to warm the curse of your cold feet
~~
Early to bed, and early to rise
Followed by a hot cup of fresh mint tea
Vick vaporize that stings your eyes
Would make a blind person see clearly
~~
Re-corking that age old red wine
from nineteen eighty-nine
with two wines glasses on the top cabinet
In hopes of one day for another romantic setting
Or most likely your daughter futuristic June wedding
~~
let’s accepted the unacceptable
I cannot imagine a winter without snow
a summer without the hot blasting sun or
autumn without the leaves  slowly falling
to the ground,
mother nature the grief we feel
your unalterable changes of your teaching
once again you have won this round

My dream begins with me
I saw the darkness before the light
When I was your woman
Everything seem so surreal

A transformation from a wild teenager to
A wife, mother and friend
A dream, most women dream of
sadly deep within that life wasn’t for me
I wanted to be free
~
So, I rebel, again and again
Story of my life
I held on for the sake of my children
Now, there are all grown
Now, here I am smiling and mending my broken heart
my dream begins with me
my dream was to be free.
