If you were love,
love would smell like sweaty wrestling mats and dreams
love would have eyes indescribable
love would be sensitive and strong
love would walk with humble confidence
love would say my name like no one has said it before,
and love would drive me crazy.

Darkness suffocates me.
Ever-present blackness fights to enter my bloodstream
Worming its way through my pores
While tendrils of grey fog claw at my eyes
Obscuring my vision

Suddenly a light appears.
The tendrils retreat,
Skittering into the surrounding shadows
White fire circled by a hazy purple brilliance,
Floating in my direction

A positive thought.
Possibility
“I am a good listener.”
Corny, yes
But I like that
For a moment, I like me

Connection
Brilliant fire envelops
Light radiates from within me
A supernova, I shine overwhelmingly
Before collapsing in on myself

With the light gone
I lie in darkness,
but not despair.
Glowing dimly,
A flickering ember sits in the corner

Hope

I feel like a tree that has finally
     realized how deeply
   rooted two smiles shine, two
smells persist under tickled eyelids, the very
way we exist individually but somehow
     live
together, as if the world in all its
wisdom has nudged in on the fact that I
                       cannot imagine my
                  life without you

Close your eyes- confusion-
The Dark Lady beckons thee,
Always open to intrusion at the hint of lessened fee
Sell out heart and self at the cost of toes to knee
Rest upon the layers and the edge of sanity.

She spits her words like bullet shells
And stores them in a locket
She's like a prisoner of war,
Keeping shrapnel in her pockets
She ****** it up again,
her finger tips are ******
Can't hold her piece of iron still,
can't stop her mind from running
Shadows hide a silhouette,
but can't hide her ******* face
She used to dream in colour,
but now she just lies awake.

That little heart shaped from green?
                         as I am.
love formed with time and care, growing
stronger and more vibrant every second,

               immortalized
                    there with you.

While it's easy to talk about holding on to
moments, they always slip through your
fingers in hindsight (I never thought I'd miss
having my name penciled on a napkin holder)

always is a strong word, I just
know I won't be around forever

and I'm not supposed to, not
yet

Plans have gone and changed, I'm
off and away regardless, couldn't
care more about this vagabond desire, I'll
burn the laughter down and run right out
of town, not stopping ahead for a yellow like
an eight-sided rule anymore, you've lifted
the unknowing latch and I'm out, I'm
out out
out.
