If I've told you once
I've told you plenty
I will not
Keep my armor shiny.
Grabbed my sword
And saddled up,
I'm sure you know
What you gave up.
I'm no pawn,
And I'm no king,
I'm the knight
Who has nothing.
Got my shield,
And grabbed the reins,
I am headed
Towards insane.

If I've told you once
I've told you plenty
I will not
Keep my armor shiny.
I'll take care,
So don't you fret.
I can restore
My honor yet.
I'm no sinner,
And I'm no saint
I'm the knight
Who clearly ain't.
I'll be safe
So don't you worry
It's only time
That's in a hurry.

Tootsie pops and pixie sticks,
I've come to play.
Three hundred forty licks
To the center. Everyday.
Sugar, spice, and everything nice,
Isn't that what they say?
My vitriolic vice,
I can't stay away.

In my dream a wise man told me
It wasn't supposed to be this way.
Glass pterodactyls are falling
Like raindrops from the sky.
The answer is in a caravan,
Should judges ever lie.
Beware of turning into them,
Lest the angels realign,
Leave us fighting
A war  we don't understand.
Turn to wayward follies
Should specters cease to be.
Skeletons sleep in closets,
Dreaming to break free.

The next time that we meet
It will be too late.
So I'll leave you
To your pearly gates
In hope that better days
Will be coming soon,
Like they always do.
It's not fair your leaving.
It was never fair.
I wish that I could here you say
Anything. Just anything.

Driving leads to thinking,
And thinking leads to you.
That leaves me stuck here
Wishing things I can't undo.
The wishing leads to hurting,
And the hurting leads to regret.
That's why I labelled the bottle
With the word 'Forget.'
If drinking leads to healing,
And healing means as good as new,
Then logic takes me here:
Forget means undo.

Well, every time I fall out of love,
I know I'll never love that way again.
So listen here girl,
And you will see
That every love
Is just a piece of me.
So you know
It's a pain that never leaves,
But it's just
Another peace to me.
And when the sun
Rises in the morn',
I'll find a new piece
To fill the void
That you left in me.

You were my Copper David;
You were my masterpiece.
Oh, the way you held me up,
It put me to sleep.
And darling when we'd touch,
I'd never felt that way before:
Standing on a mountain top
Looking down at the world.
Just trying to let it soak in.
Knowing we'll never come this way again.
So the next time you smile at me
I'll know that Mona Lisa smile
For what it meant to me.
Holding hands at a mountains peak
Is the best we'd ever be.
