Nightman Jul 2016
As the evening passes and time further stills,
The summer nights grow longer,
You continually give me chills,
And make parts of me grow stronger.

The hours we spend together fly by,
Full of laughter and joy,
I only wish you could see you as I try,
A glowing Helen of Troy.

That fateful night I will always remember,
That incident that has hewn us apart
Despite it passing last September,
I continue to wake with a start.

I miss your presence by my side,
A void aching evermore,
There’s no one left in which to confide,
Instead, only a dark door
Nightman Jul 2016
It started off so innocently
A summer's night, after a summer's day
Feelings grew greater
From little buds they did bloom

We were curious
Prying at each other
Testing the waters
Seeing what and wasn't really there

A chance was taken
A reaction given
And we knew, shockingly, how we felt

Further we danced, entangling ourselves
Deeper we fell into mystery, apprehension
Then there was a response to my call, or perhaps a call to my response

We made each other feel funny
We made each other laugh
We can be comfortable together
This may only be the first half

It appears that I'm the Superman to your Lois Lane
And that we will never forget
You make me feel happy

The lightning flares bright,
Illuminating your spot
Right here next to me
