Fearless

I love it when you rock side to side
like a weeble wobble dance
when you're cooking in the kitchen
making recipes from France

you're silly goofy laugh
and the way you always mock
I can't tell if you are being mean
or if that's just how you talk

you splash me with the water
when you're using the hose
and I hope that you are flirting
that's not hard to suppose

when I lay awake at night
and you are snoring in your bed
I have silly little thoughts
that I am running through your head

Seeing Into You

They don't understand
just what I see in you
no, you are just a man
but what I see is true
the person that you act
is not the one that's you
I've always know this fact
but I hid that from you too
I saw you from the first
the dark the light the shame
I knew that I was cursed
even though I saw your game
looking at your heart
was like looking in a mirror
'cause from the very start
I knew we're slaves to the same fear
I love you with my soul
it's the other half of yours
but this love can take a toll
I think we feel it in our cores
that's why I had to leave
and I know you don't know why
but I had something up my sleeve
and that's why I didn't cry
I'll be yours one day
though you don't want me now
I'll win this game we play
and I'm gonna show you how
my love for you is pure
and I want the best for you
I know I've got the cure
and I know you'll get a clue
I see right inside of you
just waiting to burst out
no one ever sees what I do
I want to scream and shout
to tell you what I know
what maybe you can't even see
'cause you refuse to show
though you've opened up to me
you know I will never quit
no matter how long or how far
I don't know if you can handle it
but I wish on every shooting star
people think I'm nuts
but I don't really care
most couples stuck in ruts
but we've got miracles to share
so I'll work with all my heart
until that day that you decide
to offer me the part
of your ever faithful bride

Bitter...sweeeeet!

Bitter feelings tears are falling
But you have to listen to that calling
When you leave the one you love
because you felt lead from above
sometimes He will take and hide you
when you don't know just what to do
the easy life is not the one
a heavy heart can weigh a ton
God will always make a way
if you will just get down and pray
when you find that all you're chasing
with the time that you've been wasting
didn't turn out how you hoped for
and left you always wanting more
you were looking in wrong places
putting hope in pretty faces
security isn't money in the bank
and you forget it's God to thank
when you feel safe because you're married
and you don't realize you've been carried
the perfect house with the big yard
you forget again to thank the Lord
Emptiness is always haunting
every day starts to seem daunting
Fix your eyes on what's ahead
that Jesus rose up from the dead
if you will just put hope in him
and let go of all the dragging sin
impossible becomes obsolete
then life starts to be really sweet

Jesus Sea

roaring engines with wind in my hair
so happy that I'm sitting next to you there
driving the boat just as fast as you can
tattooed arms, you're such a **** man
grin on my face that matches my heart
you couldn't even tell that we are apart
giant barracudas in the glittering sea
first time we've done something fun, you and me
the sea plants were waving as we passed them by
you swim so fast it's like you can fly
we scouted and searched through fishes galore
because what we're looking for was something more
we finally came up to that peaceful place
a statue of Jesus with his upturned face
He lifts up his hands from the watery deep
Praying to the Father, our hearts to keep
My hope is in Him because it's not in you
you did flirt with me today, though, that is true
but if I were to leave our love in your future plan
then all would be lost because you're just a man
He may have been sunk at the bottom of the sea
and you've been on a pedestal that was put there by me
but He is the one that gave us this day
this day that was filled with fun, hope, and play
so I'm taking you down from that stand that you're on
I think you'll be happier beside me, now that it's gone.

The Perfect One

He opens His mouth and what you hear
is words that calm your heart of fear
His face his gentle, bright blue eyes
He never tells you pretty lies
He listens when you have something to say
Never gets tired of hearing 'bout your day
He comforts you when you are super sad
and calms you down when you're raging mad
When you're all alone and start to cry
He comes around 'cause He's your guy
When you just can't win and all is lost
Just remember He died on the cross
sometimes a victory's disguised as defeat
But then He rose up again, isn't that neat?
So, if miracles are what you're waiting for
then just be patient and see what's in store
For all those who pray and ask and believe
It's been promised to them, that they will receive
He's not just concerned with our afterlife
He loves and He helps us with all of our strife
So cast all your cares on His big broad back
Especially when your life is all out of whack
Because that is the time when you need Him most
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost

The Broken One

Shadowed meaning twisting turning
heart of anger full of yearning
can't decipher what he's feeling
I think his heart needs some healing
harder, colder, darker growing
wondering, hoping, never knowing
his life needs light and brightening
but to him that's always frightening
hope and love send him to raging
fear and anger welcome caging

Little Things

Thankfulness for little things
even though you wanted wedding rings
can lead you on to something great
'cause you showed love instead of hate
faithfulness in little things
secrets kept in whisperings
can lead to gaining someone's trust
which in this life is such a must
kindness shared with little things
a drowning bee with soaking wings
can lead to glimmers full of hope
and give you reasons not to mope
if you can be good with all little things
and let go the hurts and fights and stings
then "impossible" miracles could manifest
because even in small, you gave your best

Roses are dead and violets are stew

Roses are dead
Violets are stew
If you're in love
then you're an idiot too
'cause boys just like drama
and you'll never be right
unless you're like their mamma
and never will fight
they want you to be good
while they play around
but they wanna check under the hood
before they settle down
so where is the balance
and what do you do
how can you stand a chance
or know what is true
the only way you're ever the one
is if you stay true to you
till they've had all their fun

Dumb Little Love Rhyme

Deep as the sea and oh so blue
When you speak I don't know what to do
I try to concentrate and listen hard
But I probably look like a ******
'cause all I can think of is kissing those lips
and feeling your hands gripping my hips
your laugh is the cutest thing I've ever heard
you sound like some sort of **** man bird
if I ever have the guts to show you this rhyme
you'll probably think I was nuts for a time
but that doesn't matter 'cause you don't know
that I love you 'cause I haven't told you so

Love it and Leave it

If you love him set him free
when time is right, come back to me
that's what they say but **** it hurts
emotions up and down in spurts

I struggle not to think of you
because I don't know what to do
when your face pops into my head
I sometimes wish that I was dead

I try to smile at the day
then on my knees I cry and pray
my aching heart skips inside
there's nothing left I haven't tried

I often stare out into space
shimmering tears run down my face
lost in thought and then bought back
trying not to think thoughts of lack

the gym helps me ignore my pain
and gives me something else to gain
I study when I have a break
exhausted from the smile I fake

I love you so I let you go
if you'll come back I do not know
freedom is my way of life
but for you i'd rather be a wife

I never thought that I would wed
but that was before I shared your bed
you make me laugh but give me space
you wiped a teardrop from my face

you should know when you come back
that I was always keeping track
of things you said that gave me hope
and not what made me cry and mope

I thought about the happy things
and pictured us with wedding rings
I looked in eyes of deepest blue
and in there all I saw was you

I saw inside your deepest fears
like I was looking in two mirrors
I saw your hopes and all your dreams
and your thoughts and imaginings

I saw the love that was inside
even though you tried to hide
I know you thought you did what's right
you didn't even put up a fight

you left me raw and heartbroken
unlike any other men
you made me pray and hope to die
its the truth I cannot lie

I get by just day to day
thoughts of you still in my way
though it's been months I sometimes cry
better every day that passes by

because I love you as you are
no matter if your near or far
though distance is what did us in
I know that I will someday win

someday you'll want my heart as yours
with other guys there may be wars
I'm wild, fun, and always free
they're always trying to tame me

but you loved me and you let me go
so if i'll come back, you do not know
you'll find out if you'll only try
together I feel like we can fly

freedom is a tricky thing
it can be lost with one little ring
or that can be what sets you free
I guess we'll have to wait and see
