People take me for granted,
All I ever did was to be nice.

The ball still goes in.

I am a being that can take any form,
Like that old tree frog.
Or that bright neon cat,
An ancient forgotten mat.
A striped zebra,
A spitting llama.
A singing river,
A long lost lover.
A hopeful journey,
A popular story.
The bright yellow sun,
To the mystifying moon.
A stinging rose thorn,*
*From all of these a story is born.

The mist creeps up on you,
Like a long forgotten grudge.
And hey **,
It'll bite you like a savage foe.

You can't see through its face,
It's body blocks your smell.
When will you escape?
Only time will tell.

Set me on fire,
Like the burning sun.
My tail will give you hope,
As I become a shooting star.

Rise from your ashes,
May you be reborn.
Be the burning bird,
Who rules ancient lore.

Those suns who have lived for millions of years,
Can now know longer burn.
So god bless their explosions,
And from them we can learn.

Why do I feel so empty?
Why do I feel so blue?
My memories I cant remember instead,
My mind's fogged up by you.

The waves are rolling,
To the shore and back.
The ocean is roaring,
The waves launch one last attack.

The sun goes down,
The sky explodes.
I let the waves carry me,
And followed the ocean flow.

Wherever they take me,
I will find my muse.
Hey it doesn't matter if I die,
I've got nothing to lose.

My tail leaves vapor,
My wings give you flight.
My body gives you accommodation,
As you sleep on me through the night.

**What Am I?

He couldn't just let me go,
He dragged me down with him.
He made sure I lost too,
And now the future looks pretty dim.

He looked at me in the eye,
My morale fell,
He grinned and said,
*See you in hell.

My teacher said I had a lot of potential,
My friends thought I was hiding talent.
A few years later I soon found out,
That I could have been,
A fearsome dragon,
A blazing phoenix,
A savage shark,
A true leader.
*But I didn't.
