Back in the Day
Claire S Oct 2010
When I was young
I dressed up for fun
I laughed and played
Rolled in grass all day

When I was young
School was coloring
And listening to stories
And the unwanted nap time

When I was young
I hated sharing
I made the rules
Or you didn't get to play

When I was young
Life was carefree
It was all about me
And I could be just me.

But now a lot has changed.

Where did time go.... And how do I go back?
I wish I still had nap time and color pages all day... Back to kindergarten :)

I did learn how to share though

The Dark Coner
Claire S Oct 2010
My emotions **** me in to the pit of black
I can't turn around, no going back.
" I know your here," I yell and scream
But my fear hides along the seams.
It sulks and slide, creaks, and moans
A sound so disheartening, it chills my bones.
It waits to scare my faint heart
but my heart is not faint
He can not chip it's protective paint
There I stand, holding strong
Resisting the urge to run along
But I am here for one thing
" I am here to scare, but no fear i will feel.
Confront me now." my head begins to reel.
" Come forth, Fear, Come and see.
For now you shall be fearing me."
Hello everyone... i'm slightly rusty around the edges and need some rust remover? anyway comments would be amazing... i would love feedback :)

Aftermath
Claire S Aug 2010
I started writing to spill out my inside
To imagine things without judgement
To tell hidden secrets to the world

I started writing for my happiness
To lift the world off my shoulder
if only for the time being

I started to write to feel free
Free of drama and stress
Free of pain and depression

I learned how to channel it into
ART
this was my self expression

but soon the inspiration
the way i let go
STOPPED...

and here I am now
left with feeling i can't describe
stuck with a cliche
CLAIRE all bottled up like a coke S.

Kinley.... the Fort
Claire S May 2010
We Live in FORT KINLEY
that we fit in so thinly
It is a very dark house
And there happens to be a mouse
We sit here night and day
While eating candy, we play
doll house and pick-up-stix
running around eating chex-mix
We Live in Fort Kinley
in which we fit so thinly
My friend Emmy and i made a Swweet Fort that we name named FORT KINLEY. so we wrote a poem about our awesome fort

Fall...
Claire S Apr 2010
I fall asleep to a steady drum,
the beat whooshing me away into sleep.
Quiet footsteps dance around me
The patter of their feet draws me in deeper.
I hardly hear a tap at my window
As a free soul stands outside
It waits for me to come join him
to dance with him in the rain...

The Little Black Dress
Claire S Apr 2010
A little black dress sitting in my closet
With a white tag still hanging off.
It hangs there night and day
Gathering dust and fading away,
Waiting for a warm body to fill it.

But I can’t fill it
Without splitting a seam.
My stomach too round,
And my *** obscene.
In this perfect world
I am not perfect
But that is all fine with me.
The little black dress will have to wait…
this is a poem off poem.
IT IS NOT ABOUT ME....  i am average weight for my height and age. I wrote this after watching the biggest loser. I hate how they make them change on that show!

Lost...
Claire S Apr 2010
when I manage to step into the limelight
I am only pulled back into the shadows more
The quiet corner is my unwanted home
The blackness is my unwanted comfort
I am stuck behind an invisible wall
Trapped from reaching the world around me

Alone, I wait for a flash of light
A key to unlock the door of silence
The hinges to glide open with doubt
For my world to open
If I step out of my box
What will I do,what can I be
All that comes to my mind is my corner
and my crawling figure dragged back into it.

Gone for now
Claire S Apr 2010
I will send you my love
In a little glass bottle.
The memories we shared
inscripted in the scroll
I will throw it into the sea
Somewhere near fiji
And leave our love
that use to surround me
behind in the turquoise water
Drifting where ever it may
Not to be found tomorrow.

What they are...
Claire S Apr 2010
Boys are stupid
dressed up as cupid
you fall for them
in a heartbeat
When they are gone
you can't let them go
the boy things they do
make you follow their coo
oh, how love can be so.
Dedicated to " boy things"

Check....
Claire S Mar 2010
My Checklist:

-Do my homework (might as well fail)

-Eat my dinner (all I want is dessert)

-Brush my teeth ( brush my teeth....... your mom )

- Go to bed ( as if I had a bedtime)

And where in this schedule does it say "Write a poem and express yourself"
This is not really a poem. I thought of it while "eating" a protein bar with my newly tightened braces. Oowww

Bigger than Life
Claire S Mar 2010
When I look up into the sky
I see miles and miles of open space
I dream that I can live on the moon
That I can fly on a shooting star

When I look into the grass
I see inches and inches of green
I dream that I'm so small
the blades of grass stand before me like towers

After I fall asleep in my bed
I dream.
Of worlds where I'm a pink dinosaur
Or of being a celebrity on planet Tartar

Whatever they say
Whatever they think
They cant stop me
from dreaming up my dreams
this is one of my suckier poems, but o well

If you have heard of " An Awesome Book" That is where I got this inspiration for this poem. If you have not heard go to www.veryawesomeworld.com. It is a really neat book and is for a great cause.

Perfect World
Claire S Mar 2010
In my perfect world
People would smile and wave
There would be no hurt
and no crime to pay
Everyone would respect each other
Black, white, yellow, or red
We could laugh and sing
No fear in our head

In my perfect world
Mankind would be kind
No war would be fought
No guns would be shot
And lovers could love without fine
music would be played
all anger and hatred swayed
Oh, what a crazy dream of mine
Peace: A small word could change the world

Falling stars
Claire S Mar 2010
I look into the staggering blue of the sky
The sun shines, but it still snows
As if spring has arrived
But winter is still fighting to stay
Flakes fall all around me
like shrunken stars descending to Earth
Each one that lands on my tongue
brings me future luck
The sun reflects off of their sides
Causing the air to twinkle
To twinkle like falling stars...
While skiing, i actually witnessed this. the snow didn't stick, but it was an unrealistic sight.

Stranger
Claire S Mar 2010
As I’m coming,
You are running.
I pass by you going to class everyday
If I’m here
You are there
You Look every
But will you every see me standing there
If I walk
You engage yourself in other talk
Yes plain old me nothing new
I know I’m am not a shiny shoe
I wish for a moment you would hold my hand
And we would just let that moment stand and stand

Although I am plain
I’m interesting too
I am like a rainbow inside
If you meet me that you could not hide
You and your gelled hair
Can make anyone stare
Doing stuff just for your friends
Well there nothing depends
On how stupid you are its true
I don’t know why I love you
You don’t let your true colors shine bright through.
i wrote this one like a year ago. it was another one of my first poems. i post them because i like to see how far i've come and jsut look back on them .

Brown Paper Bag
Claire S Mar 2010
I am drinking letters
From a brown paper bag.
They form in my head
When I begin to go mad
Sentences are made
Without my consent
my world is spinning
dancing at the event
When my sentences slur
mindless paragraphs are born
They slip through my mind
Staying on their own time
Soon my mind becomes dark
blank like a page
I am stuck in a black hole cage

I wake up the next day
my head has a fuse
I ask my friends why this so
All the can say is "you were wasted on words"

Apple Tree
Claire S Mar 2010
I swing head first on the apple tree
My legs gripped tightly around a branch
My body sways with the wind
Back and forth
Forth and back

I let my arms hang
The blood rushes to my head
Gravity wants to pull me down
But it can't and won't
Won't and can't

As I climb down I find
My pants are ripped and I am bleeding
With my gasp, I faint
Will and can
Can and will

The Cell
Claire S Mar 2010
This cell...
Hard and cold
I am hidden in a well
Dark, deep, and damp
Where is the hope that one must seek
Where is the happiness and love
Is there a pure white cooing dove
Or do all of those things leek away
Have the walls always been bleak and gray
Has the sun ever shown at the high time of day
For once I fell all alone

The ice-cold water has an echoing sound
Is it me or is it strangely quiet
Here I sit lost and scared
I am impaired for the sights I have seen
I know in my heart that I didn't do it
But I am here waiting for death
I sit and watch my days waste away
They sit there and wait for my life to pass by
What would happen if there was justice
But then again, what is justice
For once I feel all alone
Taken and without home...

A Little Boat
Claire S Mar 2010
the little boat sits at bay
no worries in the way
but nothing can stay away
from the little boat happy at bay

winds, time and, wave
can not stop pulling away
for as the wind push and pull
the rope looses grip of the soul
and the little boat stray away
taken from it's safe home at the bay

time knows all young and old
a mysterious curse not to be told
he who wears the rope thin
ready to snap at any sin

but it is wave ready to pull the boat away
from it's secure place at the bay
wave is the one who takes it all away
the one who is cursed for the crime to pay
is wave the only one they should lock away?

by itself it couldn't worked this way
help is needed to pull the boat astray
wind, time and, wave all work as one say
wind and time did not commit the final crime
but they helped pull the little boat way
away from the safe place at bay
This is not one of my better poems personally, but enjoy

Imagination Bay
Claire S Mar 2010
Fly with me, fly away
To the brightness of my cave
Where we’ll sit, talk, and lay
And you will there be astray
Across an ocean and over seas
Where there are giant peas and the apples are the size of trees
Where the fairies travel from here to there
And the trolls breathe in the sweetly sour air
Where you can travel on a bird
And all your requests will be heard
Wishes will come true
And to know that it is only you
That flew across those sea and oceans blue
To be what you dreamed to be
And know that the have the key
To unlock the door to something unknown
And to find something you wished to own
Where there is an angel sound
Let me lift you off the ground
So come with me and come away
To the land of “Imagination Bay”

But is this place filled only with sugar plum ties
For I believe there must be lies
Not all can taste like candy
And be sunny, sandy, and dandy
What is the other side of the land
That only very few can stand
Where no one will hear your pleads for help
And where gnomes are eaten by elves
Where fear is like a forest fire
And all there are born liars
Who crave the dark and scary night
And the trees are even a fright
And there is no light
Where these monsters have life
Where there is a high-pitched sound of a fife through out the night
Where the things unheard of slip through their existence
And they still walk the distance
Not all things are crystal clear
And looks can be deceiving
While the dark creatures are grieving
I step out still breathing
this was a poem I wrote last year. It was my first long poem

The water’s new
Purpose is to carry the old salmon into the Earth.
To harbor the young, watch them grow,
Show them the ways and streams of life.
It brings them with current’s flows
Down the river where the flow recycles.

After the offspring are born, their body recycles
Into the river where the new glimmering fish swim up stream in a new
Trail. A river that curves like a beaten path pushes down on the fish when it flows
Underneath the soil and Earth.
This is where the lowest forms of life
Live in the dark and cold but always grow.

As I age, I grow
When I die, my body recycles.
I realize that I know how to love life.
I will come back replenished and new.
My body is one with the Earth,
My spirit roams and flows.

I am the river in the morning rays of sun that flows,
I am the blooming golden sunflower will grow,
I am the animal of all different shapes and sizes that belong to the Earth.
I live because of the recycles,
Like the grass that is long and not new.
I am all of nature’s life.

Soft, mossy grass that I step on is pulsing with life.
It moves and flows
In and out of the old and new.
With its knowledge it learns to grow.
It creates, destroys, and recycles
Land, rivers, oceans, and the Earth.

My sun streaked curls lay gently on the Earth
As I hear the ground race and scurry with life.
The past turns, contracts, and recycles.
A faint thunder of the brook is heard as it bends and flows.
Here in the trees, I have watched the young fledglings grow,
I let myself go, as I turn my body in and turn old to new.

The sun comes up new and warm. It heats the Earth
As it grows in the sky and brings the plants to life.
When the sun goes down, the moonlight flows and the sky recycles.
This is a poem that I wrote for school. Please comment

But Now It's All Over
Claire S Mar 2010
DING ****
The warning sign has been rung.
The sun has shone.
The birds have sung,
But now it’s all over.

DRIP DROP
The rain has fallen.
Child has cried
Men confessed to lies.
Flowers have been planted
The snow has melted,
But now it’s all over.

TICK TOCK
Friendship has gone.
Wars have been won.
The fight has been long.
Day turned to night
Night turned to day
Let’s end this fight.
Before it’s too late.
This is a poem about being friends with someone before the opportunity passes you by.

— The End —
