Let nature forever humble you.
For one day it shall elude;
Let the mountains leave you breathless
Let the rain soothe your soul
Let sunshine kiss your back

Spend time in nature.
For one day you'll have none left;
Swim in the creek
Sleep in a meadow
Count the stars
Breathe the morning air

Cherish nature.
We are the most invasive species on this earth.
The trees cannot scream out for help.
The ocean has no tears.
The glaciers cannot protest.
Stand up for what you stand on.

A thought for the day is to think for the day
About all beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
A soaring fire that sways and sings

Take today to think about
Stars that glimmer like gold,
The scent of pine trees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold

A thought for the day is to think for the day

About what you love and why
What makes you happy
What motivates you to try

Take today to think about
all that you can

And tomorrow morning you'll wake
And start thinking all over again

Leave me alone,
I do not wish to see anyone today.
I want to sit in my room
An let my anxiety waste me away
I want to imagine a life
That I will some day lead
When I'm out on my own, liberated and freed.
Free from oppression
Closed-minded town, school and friends
I want to make my own path: with no beginnings nor ends.
I don't know where I'm going yet, don't know where to begin
But I know I'll never apologize
Not for adventure, exploration or sin
I'll live my own life, don't tell me what to do.
So leave me alone today
The last person I want to see is you.

I look into her eyes and do not see my sister staring back.
I see a girl that is terrified of life trapped inside a woman.
I see what she's fighting
I see aches and bruises, uninvited *** and drugs consumed against her beautiful will.
I see my idol struggle and turn to me for guidance.
I want her to know peace that does not come from a prayer or priest
I want her to see the sunshine and breathe the wild air
I want her to know therapy that does not come from an office building
I want her to feel the fresh water slip between her fingers and wash her soul clear
I want to look into her eyes and see my sister.

I can never sleep when I'm not in love.
I think about lying in your bed
First to fall asleep
Last to wake up.
You couldn't sleep, could you?

I was buried by Christmas
And didn't dig myself out till spring.

Now I'm faded from the winter
Brittle, the cracks in the seat of my swing.

Will I sleep until June?
Oh how I wish I could.

But then I'd miss my birthday
And yours, and yours
But still I would

Sleep

Through it all

Waste away time
As if it were a renewable resource

As if time were mine.

I can feel it running out
Sand slipping between the glass

I can't take back hours I've waisted

Waiting,
crying,
sitting through mass.

An hour in a church to pray for more time

What if I took those hours and made them all mine?

The seasons of life are dust in your hands

You'll never receive the hours your soul so demands

You can sleep through it all
Or make something to leave

Or spend the time praying for more...

It's whatever you believe.

Tell me stories
Unspoken
As we lay
Tangled limbs

Made of the words
On your back
Written
By my fingers

Made of the words
Your fingers
Traced
On my lips

Made of the words
Your lips
Whispered
Into my soul

Made of the words
Your soul
Peered
Through my body

Made of the words
Your body
Shared
With mine.
