Smashing the ice with a sledge hammer is exhausting
Pounding, sweating, blisters pulsating
Slowly chipping away at the vastness of frozen emotions
Yet, the ice is formidable from months of winter

Forced to recalculate, to innovate, to anticipate
Salt has the ability to melt ice into tears of joy
Unless the salt solvates in open wounds

Progress freezes until nature's spring decides
The sun is enlightened enough to slowly
Allow thawing in his Mother's time

The less I cry
The more you listen
When I pause
You gasp in suspense
I whisper goodnight
Your dreams scream my name
I remain silent
You idealize my thoughts
Silence is bliss
It make you clamorous

You are my uniform
You give me confidence
You make me look sophisticated
Professional, and sovereign
I sport you with pride

At the end of the day
I crumple you into a ball
And toss you in the hamper
A new uniform awaits
Pressed in the closest

I'm a spy
A super hero
Of your enemy
Watching, analyzing, construing
I know your strengths
But more crucially
I know your weaknesses
I have a license to break you heart
To destroy your world
I'm disguised as your
Best friend, your lover, your confidant
You "are stirred, not shaken."
This idea came to me while watching a James Bond move.

No more excuses
No more self lies
No more sweets
No more large thighs

Cut down on portions
No more dining out
No more cereal killing
That leads to self doubt

Get back on the bike
Get out of the chair
Will get back into shape
Before spring, I swear
Thanks for sharing my therapy. By putting it in writing, I am pledging to get fit for spring. I love to cycle and hike, but lately the cold weather has been my excuse to hibernate and eat. No more!

Ice, snow, frigid temps
January stretches years
Spring is frozen out

She raised me to be God fearing
And taught me right from wrong
Where have our lives gone wrong
After all the tender rearing

Now she needs my fatherly care
To cook for her and pay the bills
My giving is plain with no frills
It's hard for me to truly be there

She prays to her God in Heaven above
I work quietly with nothing to say
Unsure if she loves me to this day
She failed to teach me to say one word, "love"
