Him
Across the class,
            past the sea of faces—
I lock my eyes on him—
We stare for a moment
in a dance of questioning eyes,
                        of observation and wonder.
I **** away
with a smile on my face,
he was looking back at me.
Too lazy to be ambitious,
I let the world take care of itself.
Ten days' worth of rice in my bag;
a bundle of twigs by the fireplace.
Why chatter about delusion and enlightenment?
Listening to the night rain on my roof,
I sit comfortably, with both legs stretched out.

And then the day came,
when the risk
to remain tight
in a bud
was more painful
than the risk
it took
to Blossom.

Fold

Slip down into the
temporal lobe of my
aching brain,
crescendo of *******
organic effects.

I draw the shades and
hold my head in pale winter hands,
allowing oceans of cerulean sorrow
to fill my lungs,
and you say what you will,
and you say that you're right,
and I fold
beneath the weight of
your shadow.
Can you stay there?
In the dark earth of my soul,
can you build roads under
my feet but still keep your anonymity?
Can you sleep underneath me but never rest?
Can you let my bricks settles themselves
but be the grout on my strength
but still let me keep my title?

There once was a man on the moon
He said, "I'm leaving quite soon"
He packed up his bag
And folded the flag
And said, "I'll be there at noon".
