just outside the city lines, bout half mile down
stands the old stucture, guiding folks to town
legend says its an arch, pass under it to be free
my thoughts are still pending, not sure to believe
the sun sets early now, as we say good bye to summer
Its shadow seems longer now, least I remember
the people welcome in the fall, the season of colors
the crispness of the air, cleanse the summer druthers
It seems to stand guard, firmly gripping the ground
the people amass and gather round
could it be an ancient stargate, from a forgotten time
built to keep the human race in a lockstep line
now if you look closely, where it bends and streches
the fading words still spells its message
welcome all you strangers and old friends alike
relax, take care, hope you stay awhile
this moonlit evening enhances the canopy trees
my senses are comfort with the warm breeze
watching small shadows race up and down thier limbs
as the crickets sound their nightly hymns

your presences is a must for this stirring heart
hurry now, the anticipation is too much

there is so many words that I must say
only you can decipher, in a coherent way
rearrange them, send them back to me
for only this fool can see

your presences is a must for this stirring heart
hurry now, the anticipation is too much

this is my mindset, when you can't be near
talking to the evening breeze, hoping you'll hear
when suddenly the songbird seems spurned
and he and I wait for your return

your presences is a must for this stirring heart
hurry now, the anticipation is too much
this thin line between the mind and the soul
can become askewed
with all the whirlpool of thoughts
bout things we knew
yet anticipation runs wild with all that is new

the soothing sonnet of the humming bird's song
reminds the heart that the past is long gone
and realize that it's here I belong

the trepidation of the future quietly goes away
fears and uncertainties have gone astray
waiting on the illumination of better days

in this valley, tween the rolling hills
the echos of promise is instilled
perhaps now I can find the will
remember the sadness you bare
hallow eyes, distant stares
words coherant, then to scared
hoping for someone to care
listening in a diminutive state
gathering the pieces from your plate
thoughts query, am I too late
to rescue, this ill concieve fate
at the end of day, when emotions are drained
and ole sol has relinquished to the night
the brain stimulates in vain
yet the heart wants to rest, relieve some pain
the eyes just stare, in silent reflection
waiting for darkness to shield their moisture
there's a reoccuring theme, wanting a connection
as we ponder all of our expectations
life is just a rough draft, as the poets contend
the rewrites are many and a certant constant
we hold our thoughts, as the mind bends
not knowing what message we should send
25% of me loves your smile
25% of me loves the beauty of your eyes
25% of me feels your tender touch
25% of me melts into your arms
100% of me surrenders to you
if I could, I would color you in the hues
that paint my mind
each stroke, smooth and true
if I could, I would tease you with
the melody in my heart
each note resonates with love
if I could, I would whisper to you
let your knees collapse with my words
then hold on to you for all eternity
as I walk amongst this silent path
hundred roses lined pretty in a row
the dew on their petals, are teardrops
from my eyes
each step taken, is a memory long ago
precious time remembered, heavy hearts
slow the pace
wishing all along I would catch a glimpse
a smile and a wink to satisfy my soul
yet the fragrance of the roses
is all that is left, to let me know
you are still here
so I'll say hello, as I always do
knowing you walk this path with me
always guiding me to you
you are part of my heart I won't
let leave
oh my beloved america, were have you gone
tell me you have't lost your way
I remember when you were young and strong
has that fearful day that finally touch our shores
turned us against us
did it dent our invincibility, expose our weakness
so now the colors won't mix any more
is suspicion now the norm
you don't look right, dress right
you know i am armed, so I carry that swagger
don't take from me, I'll put you down
I'ts my right
least us not forget we stoled this land from the
real americans, which makes us all immigrants
I dream that all the gods we worship will one day
rise above us into the stratasphere
look down upon us mere mortals
and cast down the final demand
finally respect and love one another
or you shall be cast as a frozen orb
to the darkest reaches of the universe
