It is so easy for me to push people away.
To shut them out and never hear from them for another day.
Entrusting in others to learn, understand, and honor my sacred space is to confide. Once this is broken it is clear to me that it is once again time to hide.
I am penniless.
And my pockets swim with lent.
Though,
I stand with a cup
one-third full
Amidst the comforts of a lone steel barricade
and a briny bath below me.
The winds are violent,
And the tide’s at bay.
Look,
The sky is painted in pink papaya today.
Another?
No,
I say.
This will suffice.
Perhaps,
Another day.
