All the boys I kissed did not prepare me
For kissing a girl.
They didn't tell me that a girl's lips is 10 times
Sweeter, and softer than any boys.
Their tongues shoving themselves down my
Throat in secret did not prepare me
For softly asking permission and being okay
With saying, "yes".

All the boys who I ****** did not prepare me
For the gentle touch of a girl.
They didn't tell me that a girl will ask time and time
Again if what she's doing is okay.
"You're addicted" did not prepare me
For cute giggles and soft moans,
And smiling in the morning at each other.

All the boys I loved did not prepare me
For falling in love with a girl.
They didn't tell me that girls love gently, innocently,
Like I was the only thing in the world.
Abuse and neglect did not prepare me
For learning to love myself in a way
That I want her to love me.

It's amusing to me
The way you hang
On every word

You memorized all
The things  I've
Said since the day

We met on odd
Terms. You so
Far away

I was lost
When you found
Me that night

Here we are now
Hearts shattered
Dreams unfollowed

I'm lost again
At least I think
You're gone

With the summer
Wind now only
A breeze

In my hair.

It took me less than six months to get
over the boy who took my virginity from me.
But it’s now taken the length of childbirth for me
to stop crying when I hear your name

It took me only two months to find someone else
when he told me he never loved me.
But even still  I compare every person to you and
they don’t add up to the brilliance that you have.

The last time he messaged me I laughed because
I was with you and he didn’t even stand a chance.
The last time you messaged me you were with her,
but you still said you missed me, and
my heart skipped a beat.

At fourteen I fell in love with a monster
who said I was like the stars, dead and cold.
At sixteen I fell in love with a king who taught me
that I was nothing like the stars because they’ll never shine as bright as me.

I wanted to give you some words that you really like
So I traveled all over the world on nothing but a bike.
I looked at trees, and bees,
and several people who fell for me.
However none of them compared to you
And none of them did the things you do.
Their voice didn’t drive me insane
just by saying my name.
The way they kissed wasn’t right
when I was missing you at night.
So I hope you know that I could travel to the moon
In search of words that would make you swoon
But I don’t think any of them would do
To show how much I think about you.
