A Coming Day
Bree Apr 2014
There is coming a day
When all knees shall bow
And all disbelief go away
As we worship our King
In His glorious throne,
And the Bride with the ring
Put back on her finger.
Romans 14:11 - It is written: "'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'"

What is Wisdom?
Bree Apr 2014
It’s not knowledge,
But it is with knowledge
It’s not quite experience,
For that is something else
Good judgment perhaps?
But, no, that’s only a part.

Sensibility and insight
Learned and alert
How can I know this myself?
If not knowledge, what?
Is it some sacred art?

Knowledge I can have
But wisdom still lack
I pray that I might perceive
What this word itself
Means, but also for some keen
Understanding in my heart.

I pray that I might have
This thing called wisdom
So that I might not have
Just another notch on my belt
But that I could learn to be
A true child of God, told apart.
Something more.

Temptations Come
Bree Apr 2014
It’s when I’m alone,
It’s when I let down my guard
And kick up my feet.
2 Timothy 2:22-24 -  Run from temptations that capture young people. Always do the right thing. Be faithful, loving, and easy to get along with. Worship with people whose hearts are pure. Stay away from stupid and senseless arguments. These only lead to trouble, and God’s servants must not be troublemakers. They must be kind to everyone, and they must be good teachers and very patient.

Broken
Bree Apr 2014
The child
Who dreams, who hopes
And leaves home.

The father
Who struggles, who seeks,
But dies in war.

The mother
Who loves, who mourns,
Still here.

Beauty in the Broken
Bree Apr 2014
This beauty comes from
Brokenness, not some
Perfect life I’ve made
It is more a trade –
Death for life, true hope,
Pains and trials, my rope.
To trust Him to help me
Grow up, in Him, free,
Into who He wants.
(Though temptation taunts)
I fall, broken, then
He loves once again.
As shepherd to lamb,
Who He says I am,
That is whom He makes,
Whatever the stakes.
I am His daughter,
With Living Water,
And I am broken,
For me, He’s spoken.
I am *beautiful.
2 Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Afraid to Author
Bree Apr 2014
Something about writing terrifies.
What is deep in heart can’t help but to
Spring up forth and my God glorify.
Yet there’s always a chance, isn’t there
That what words do come out from the depths
Do not glorify, but rather make
Such a smooth lukewarm and then regrets?
What if the words twist the truth? It is
Very likely, is it not, my friend?
Then if a seed of lies falls into
Their minds, how, then, will I make amend?
Revelation 3:15-16 - "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! But you are lukewarm. You aren’t hot or cold. So I am going to spit you out of my mouth."

You May
Bree Apr 2014
You may grieve, for he brags of that which is not his
You may pity, for he turns from the ways of God
You may pray, for his tongue speaks lies and vanity
You may remind, for he says God has forgotten me.

You may serve, for you are faithful and humble
You may forgive, for you know you are forgiven
You may cheer, for you see God hears your cries
You may stand, for you have been set free.

You may love.
Inspired from Psalm 10.

Our Peace
Bree Apr 2014
For He is our peace
Made one new humanity
From the two of old.
Ephesians 2: 14-18:  For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,  by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
