(the city had fought the fortnight before)
fire burned through the little skirts
and plastic lunch boxes
carrying the nourishment of our future
doctors and worldshakers—

                                 Future
tax paying Americans
And beacon of the nation.

Wide awake, in the thoughts of a light bulb,
(Where sidewalk stairs politic with the devil,)
A raindrop fell and whispered to the asphalt,
“Tell me what you know about happiness…”
And somewhere, in the middle of a pineapple parade,
A Pepsi can smiled and danced the night away with Nyquil labels.

Before guns wore make-up,
We used to put pennies in our socks
So we’d always walk on the root of all evil.

Now Wall Street angels frolic through satellite clouds borrowed
from youths educated by universities of smoke and plastic bags.

(The tears of a child are homage to the waning gods)
For in a day not far away,
Over the painted moon of the Morning Son,
The sun will rise wearing the finest war scars money can buy.

And the screams of humanity will be heard from Venus,
Forgetting that the reciprocal of   L-I-V-E   itself  is     E-V-I-L
And perhaps death is the life meant to be lived.
John 10:34 "Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'?

Call after me as I hurry down worn and withered road,
Cramming hands in pockets to hide them from biting cold,
Call after me as I’m walking quietly down the halls,
I've left my friends and family beyond abandoned walls,
Call after me my future friend walking from place to place,
I spend all day out and about with not a conversation face to face,
So call after me in the garden, in the school, my town, my life,
Call after me when my face is blank and it appears i'm rather shy,
Call to me from where the reverie lies deep within my mind,
And just wait and see I bet we’ll be great friends in given time.
I want to bury my heart deep beneath the sea
and never have to feel its ache or break again
I want to cast that pain away deep beneath the waves
and never have to look back and see it

I want it to sink away to melt away to be gone
for good or so I think but then then you're the there
and I want to feel it I want to feel all of it every
heartache every teardrop every bend and break

cause you're worth it, you know that? you're worth
every lifetime of **** every awful lonely night and day
and all the times I pretend to be OK
and you're worth every drop of sweat and blood

every minor pang of guilt and every scream
of brutal agony and alone or together you're what
we're all looking for that person that one thing
that makes life worth living

and deep down we'd all tear apart the world to find you
cause with out you we want to sink away want to
bury our hearts deep beneath the sea and I
will not build my life on these smaller truths
I'll build it around you

you're what makes my heart worth beating
and without you it might as well just
burn or be buried or rot away
melt away sink away drift away
and the tide
pulls my heartbeat
away.
I swear to god I haven't been writing a bunch of poetry in almost no time at all. It's a bunch of old stuff from over the summer and through the fall.

Blazing noonday sun
Relieved by a sigh of breeze
Whispering secrets
To sun dappled ancient oaks
Rustling tall meadow grass.

Fragile handle with care.
I have animosity towards the moon.
You look upon it with such a warm heart.
If only you could see that it was apart...of me.
The cosmic stars are pieces of my soul that I have sent out
I chose them to hang iridescently high because I do not think you could handle them.
I do not think that you could care for them the way the moon, which you look so fondly upon, does.
I use then darkness as a shield to hide from you who I am.
Who I really am
If you were to peel back the layers of the sky...the atmosphere which I have built to protect me you may see...
A soul that although reigns a good 6 feet tall actually feels as though she is only good enough to ride the kiddy rides at Disneyland.
If you were to listen to what the moon has to say as it phases with the ever changing days you would hear....
I speak loudly because no one listens, even when I am screaming, so just to be heard I say loud obscured things, I don’t mean all the time.
If you were to know what the nocturnal think about when they emerge from their daytime slumbers you would know...
That even though I truly know how things will happen and how my life go I cannot help but to make up scenarios in my head that would rival even the greatest love story.
And if by some way you were to know what the dark is truly like...
You would know what it is like to be me every minute of everyday.
I am the dark...I am fragile. I can be shattered by just the mere presence of a bright light. I am quite and I know the secrets of the world. I can be your greatest companion or the one you can’t rid your life of fast enough. I can be the optimism for a new day or the reminicing of the best day fleeting.
I AM the stars.
I AM the moon.
I AM the silence.
I AM the grey.
I AM fragile like the owl.
Or silent like the shooting star.
I fall just as hard and just as fast but then I am going going gone.
I am just as fragile as the light of the moon.
I am just as fragile. I am just as fragile. I am just as fragile, But if you feel the need to shine your flood light and erase me.
Please let me know first so I can tell dawn to come a little faster so I don’t have to see you **** me with your own bare hands.

pause

sweat collects in hollows between sound
and vertebrae
salt crusting over against the wall, skin.

i roll words and worlds between my cheeks
dusty marbles under the tongue rattling in
the empty spaces
not right and
too hard
too cold.

i spit them out and look
away before they land.

I worry that you don’t want me
Any more
I’m cast aside and crumbling
So I’m locking every door
Your castle walls cascading
Toward a dropping fading floor.
You used to take me so high
Then you would build me up some more
I was invincible
Supersonic, inconceivable
Hypnotic, unbelievable.
Inside of my walls
You said you were home.
Now deep inside I feel alone.
As I fall to ruin collapse
All my pieces hurdle to earth
Land against raw dirt and smash
Confused, astounded
And grounded at last.
Friendship is not always having the words to say
But always being there to listen.
Friendship is a shared silence
Because we are comfortable in it.
Friendship is having each others back
When times are rough or easy.
Friendship is knowing that you will be there
No matter where I am.
Friendship is the only thing that can bridge
Miles and time.
Friendship is
You.

A lady bug crawled across my dreams today,
I thought it was odd, being so cold out and all.
Sways in and out of consciousness, oblivion
In and out of this light I’ve been living in.
On the big ball I’m living on, spinning with.
I’m a broken insomniac packed with adrenaline.
Sirens blaring and dead eyes staring in my head,
So loud here trapped beneath everything
A dull thrumming gentle humming,
So loud the soul of my shoe vibrates,
To the bad vibes of thier raw hate.
Simple centering while I meditate.
Tell myself there is a thing to call a happy place.
Pieced to pieces fabricated memories,
Like a puzzle missing pieces.
But I fell asleep today, long before
Four in the morning like a normal human.
Sanity came to the ushered sound of gentle snoring.
And a lady bug crawled across my dreams today,
For some reason it made me think of you.
And the soft sway that’s your way,
I thought you were here but I woke
**** choke the tears **** them
And your gone. you are the best dream,
Best one lately anyway when I miss you like this.
Best I have ever had and a common thief
Of my sleeping dreams
Scaring my eyes open for so long
I finally start to see a common theme
Remember that lady bug that ran across
My memories.
Seeing you would easily sooth me back to sleep
And until then i grin over silly things,
Like your wide eyes when a lady bug crawled
Up your knee.
Capri, I miss you.
