Different
Asna Nov 2019
Different from the crowd that lives,
Across the street and peers..
into the doings of nobodies,
feeds on darkest fears..

Im different and not sorry,
not being amongst the herd..
Im different and not sorry,
my choices that absurd!

I dive into the pages,
Penned by greater minds..
Who chose to spend the ages,
Towards intellectual finds..

I do not care for trivia,
Or conversations vain..
that feed on cold invidia,
And deep-hearted disdain..

No sword or tongue or might,
That people claim so true..
Can paint my thoughts so bright,
As a pen inked in blue..

I may be called unvaried,
And dull and tedious too..
but beneath my skin is buried,
A fiery someone new..

Im different as different can be,
Head in the clouds, nose in a book..
Opposing the ideals of society,
Ignoring the judgmental look..

My thoughts swim in the auburn sky,
The wheels and cogs of my mind turn..
How and what and a million whys,
Don’t stop me, I want to learn..

In swarms and herds and bouts,
Towards a blinding goal..
They leap and run and jump,
Towards something unknown..

Follow the crowd, they say,
thats where we’re meant to go..
I cannot fit in this way,
When I was born to stand out..

Im different and not sorry,
For being who I am..
Im different and not sorry,
I try, I will, I can..

If I am Gone
Asna Nov 2019
If I am gone and turned to dust,
Would your eyes be moist with pain?
Ignore me now, if you must,
My love would be in vain..

If no longer your heart feels new,
Would you leave at your behest..
My love freshens like the morning dew,
At my worst and at my best..

Your eyes are blinded, cannot see,
In lover’s deep I now wallow,
I am what you need of me,
an empty heart, a hollow..

Your eyes stray away from me,
At others who would not ask..
No one else is meant to be,
In your glory they would bask..

I toil for you, at every turn,
Leave my wishes due..
It is now time for me to learn,
I am a someone too..

If I am gone and turned to dust,
Would your heart be bleeding through?
Ignore me now, if you must,
I am still in love with you..

Red Red Rose
Asna Nov 2019
I am a wild, red red rose,
that lived amongst the green..
And passerbys would stop and stare,
In the garden of the Queen..

The marigolds and daffodils,
Would not stand a chance..
As the breeze would break the still,
In their fragrance I would dance..

In the green, I stood as red,
And wild as I could be..
Until I was picked from my bed,
And gifted to the unseen..

A rose, so red, a wild red rose..
That bloomed in the morning dew,
One that lived with stark repose..
Now bloomed in a green anew..

Days passed, no passerby’s,
Would stop and stare at me..
No human touch, no wondrous gaze,
No shadow would touch me..

In time and place, I slowly withered,
into a dark, red,  nothingness..
until my petals slowly slithered,
Onto the once green rugedness..

With love and care, and admiration,
I could bloom and red the sky..
But now I live in desolation,
I cant bloom if I try..

I was a wild, a red red rose,
The heart and soul of green..
With beauty and poise, hearts I stole,
forgotten and secluded, I weep..
