Sonnet
Mimosa Oct 2017
Let me whisper your name like a mantra,
memorize the shadows beneath your eyes,
surround myself with your glowing aura,
and fill this space with sonnet the sounds of my sighs.
With a cigarette dangling from your lips,
the quickening of my heart sings an ode.
My searching hands tremble against your hips -
stretch marks a puzzle I aim to decode.
Your palm lines are a map guiding me home.
Into my skin, trace a silent message.
Years of studying led me to become
fluent in your abstract body language.
A soul like yours ignites me like a fuel.
Set me ablaze with love, I am a fool.

earlier at the market, my eyes were drawn to you

how many others have touched your skin?

i want to nip, lick, pull, squeeze,

sink my teeth into your soft pink flesh

until you come apart in my hands;

feel your essence drip from my lips as its

sticky sweetness coats my fingers and tongue
