Ben Ruckpaul Oct 2013
Our words have been lost,
their light extinguished,
their cutting edge blunted.
The decline has only become apparent now,
during the last flicker of their existence.
The pen was once the unifier of nations,
the force of justice,
with the power to lay armies to waste.

The pen truly was mightier than the sword.

But not anymore.
The word no long holds sway over the raptures,
having been supplanted by modern means of
expression. We fail to realise the fact that has plagued
us; that our language is dead.
