mannequin
Behind the Mask Sep 2013
I once chanced upon
A lonely mannequin*

Discarded and abandoned
She was stripped of her clothes
Vulnerable to her surroundings
Her arm was distorted
Yet she bore no expression
Her wig plastered on a face
She was faceless
A mask she wore

Slowly I approached
Taking ginger steps
One, two, three
Tenderly, I lifted her damp hair

Curiosity killed the cat
A shrilling scream punctured the air
Her face now glowed red
Her body
Writhing in pain

Taken aback
I hastened my pace
Away from her
Away from the plastic mannequin

I once chanced upon
*A lonely mannequin

I love trips.
All kinds of trips:

Road trips
Food trips
Shopping trips
Sunset trips
Random trips

Except one:
*Guilt trips

Conflict

The conflict
Between the devil, and the oh-so lovely angel
It never ends does it?

It's the time of the year
Behind the Mask Nov 2013
It's the time of the year
To say goodbye
To give our parting hugs
To flash our last wavering smile.

It’s this time of the year
Where we determine how true
The essence of friendship is
How long would it last

And it is this time of the year
Where I discovered
None of the friendships made
Were made out of diamond: strong
Made out of rubber: flexible
Made out of pure truth

Lies upon lies
Built up on a weak foundation
Threatening it to topple
To collaspe and to fall

Its heartening to see
What true friendship can do
But yet disheartening to know
That true does not exist too.

The value of appreciation has depreciated.

This is a cruel fact, I must say
For every action- we shouldn't expect a reaction
At least a ‘thank you’ would suffice

But no.

Stony glares and mockery,
That's what I ever get.

Who are you?
I no longer know.

Who am I?
I no longer show.

What are you?
Something discardable

What am I?
Just a piece of irrelevant material.

I beg to differ.

In this world, the word 'true' has long been non-existent.

4-Rule Guide to how to Live
Behind the Mask Nov 2013
I find that in life
People fail to grasp
The meaning behind it
The essence of why we live

Simple rules to adhere,
Pure and divine

One, love greatly.
Two, live simply.
Three, be happy.
Four, smile brightly.

Four simple rules,
Not just digits
But a guide to how to live life
To the fullest.

ball of flame
Behind the Mask Oct 2013
the ball of flame hovered low
it’s pride diminishing- as comes night
the radiance dimming, the hope flickering
just a teeny bit more, a full blackout

it eases its way down
slowly, it may seem, but evidently struggling
the infinite horizon that it should grace
but not a chance, its time will come
for everything it has done, all insane

the sphere that revolves
a full circle, finally
completed its mile, time for a rest
but no, tired it may be
it still has different events to attend
those on the opposite end

and round and round
the sphere revolves
yet thee, gets no rest
but still it shines
on and on- till the day it will be forever gone

Just-
Behind the Mask Sep 2013
You are not the only one with a problem.
Many people have problems.
Many people suffer, day after day,
Worrying about mere survival
On this cruel planet called Earth.

And what are you doing?
Lamenting about your dull, mundane problems.
Please spare people a thought.
Please.

We be swimmin'
Behind the Mask Oct 2013
The hand is working hard
But the brain, slacking
Eyes tearing from strain-
Words swimming

Lets go for a dip in Nodland shall we?

Going going gone
Behind the Mask Oct 2013
Time, it's approaching.
Running towards me,
No, hurtling.
I open my arms,
to embrace it, with happiness, joy, esctasy.
Because, freedom, finally. Freedom.

But yet, when I have Time in my arms,
Its sneering, snarling
Leering at me
Cruelly reminding me that
She will be gone soon,
Going, going,* gone.
sadly

The truth has prevailed,
That long a time it took

I guess that's the only reason why
I would prefer to stay Behind the Mask
So that I can deceit myself into thinking
That nothing is wrong.

*Ignorance is bliss.

Food for thought
Behind the Mask Oct 2013
hmmm

that is certainly food for thought

if that is true

i wonder what we would do

would we freak out

i would most certainly shout

there is nothing else left

only these times of distress

— The End —
