Desperate Need
BC Durden Sep 2011
Beautiful desire
She is a ghostly apparition
The wind is her hair
Making gusts of Greek fire
And her breath is cold as winter
All I see is dark grey clouds
While my heart freezes as I kiss the gates of Milton’s paradise.  I’m lost.
As I stand against the inferno, I close my eyes. Weeping.  Feeling dark eyes boring into my soul.
My eyes turn red with passion, and I feel like she is my mortal sin.
Is her temptation so great that I can never be forgiven?
Or is she a gift from God, another blessing I’ve been given?
Like the angels wreathed in fire, she is stunning beyond compare
Is she evil, using it against me? Or is beauty just her curse?
And will that curse, in turn, lead me to my hearse?
If I kiss her lips, will poison drown my veins?
So that only the dust of a once fruitful life remains?
But I love how her ghostly apparition flows through my fingertips.
Like the eastern coast beckoning the arrival of long lost ships.

Tears Of Broken Glass
BC Durden Sep 2011
A beautiful face
with dark intentions
Fake confidence
hides her evil nature

A lust driven angel
she'll tear you apart
No mercy for her victims
lips like razors

I'm ****** into you
Falling
deeper into your
black soul
bleeding tears of broken glass

How could you do this?
Play ***** with my heart
want me, use me, hate me
blame me for your weakness

Watch her move
across the floor
a graceful dance
of self-destruction

Not two days ago
you smiled with dark flames
scorching my benevolence
burning my affection

I'm ****** into you
Falling
deeper into your
black soul
bleeding tears of broken glass

You open up to me
i see an illusion
of purity and heartache
striking at my sympathy

Now i see the real you
twisted black
a sunless hole
of *** and anguish

No more room
for pathetic emotions
like love and happiness
now there's only agony

I'm ****** into you
Falling
deeper into your
black soul
bleeding tears of broken glass

Passion
BC Durden Jul 2011
Passion.
What a defining emotion.
It calls and beckons all of us.
It wraps it’s light around us.
We seek it out in all aspects of our lives.
Sometimes, if we are lucky,
It can find its way into our lives.
Like our breath in winter,
True passion can be seen.
It can be felt.
It can be a source of warmth.
It can be a reminder of the world around us.
True passion is what we strive for.
Passion in our arts,
Passion in our dreams,
Passion in our hearts.
What do I want?
I want love.
Not just any love,
But a deep and passionate love
That breaks the stereotypes
And brings me to my knees.
I want a love that will break all walls
And deliver me from my fears.
I want a love that comes naturally.
I want a love I have to fight for.
I want a love that fights for me.
In this world,
Where everything is fake,
And everything is material,
I want a love that will and can be real.
A love that will pick me up,
Lift me from my ashes,
Bring me to a whole new world
Of fire and pure emotion.
I want a love that will,
Above all things,
Love me for everything I am.
That will go the distance and back again.
I want a love that will tear me down,
Destroy me as a person
And bring me back to life.
I want to feel as if I am breathing
For the very first time.
I want a love that will
Take a risk.
Make a leap of faith
And find itself standing tall
Against all odds.
I want a love that is full
Of passion and reality.
I want a love that is going
To push me to my limits.
I want a love that is going
To envelop my mind.
To figure out exactly who I am
And what makes me tick.
I want a love that will be
There for me when I need it.
And give me space when I need it.
I want a love that will
Make my blood boil.
Enrage me and make me cry,
Just so that I know when
All is said and done,
Love will be there still.
Like a champion among lesser men,
I want loves ties to never break.
I want a love that will punish me
For my wrong doings.
I want a love that will pleasure me
Without me even having to ask.
I want a love that can make life stand still
Like there is no one else in the world
And the only thing that matters is being with me
In that moment
In total completeness.
I want a love that can make me smile,
Just by being present.
I want a love that will
Cast out all doubts and suspicions.
I want a love that I can be care free
And allow myself to just be me.
I want a love that doesn’t need words
Or reassurance.
I want a love that is an extension
Of not only my body
And my mind,
But my soul.
I want a love that I can be selfish with,
And never want anyone else to know
As well as I do.
I want a love
That I can plain and simply
Call my own.

Addiction
BC Durden Jul 2011
I sleep here
On my bed of needles
My nightmares blurring
into my reality

The hills are alive
But I'm dying beneath them
My ears are bleeding
from the absence of music
And I'm choking on these words
Gasping for air
Grasping for an escape
And though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil,
For loving you is worse
than spending an eternity in hell

No hope now
Heaven is closed
I'm trapped, treading thin ice
One wrong move
and I'll crash
Drowning in your frozen love

Being with you
Is like feeding an addiction
My skin burning for you
No scars to relieve my pain
No one can save me now,
I plunge you in my veins

And here you go
a one way shot to my heart
Destroying me on your path
My head is spinning
The world turns Grey
I'm suffocating under you

And though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil,
For loving you is worse
than spending an eternity in hell

are you here to watch me burn?

Winter is falling
on a love so cold
Snow flakes are dancing
while a life grows old

I look to the east
and see a setting sun
my hands are shaking
on the trigger of a loaded gun
my eyes are teary
as I look to the end
But the sky will never be
The same shade of blue again

Rivers Running Black
BC Durden Jul 2011
A white lily
floating down the river Styx.
Untouched by detestation.

Is she my hope?
my warmth?
my salvation?

Or is she something else,
Meant to drag me under?
Plunge me into Cocytus,
my flowing lamentation?

Never Letting Go
BC Durden Jul 2011
Oh and she danced across the floor, evermore, footsteps keeping paces with my heart.
She raised a hand, beckoning my way, an open invitation of love or lust.
I raised a brow, knowing all to well the kind of lies she'd have me lay with.
I turned to go, but beauty has a way of never letting go.
Oh and she danced across the floor, evermore, footsteps keeping paces with my heart.

I Guess I Have Some Issues
BC Durden Jul 2011
Why did you tell me
That everything was great?
Why did you tell me
That it was the perfect date?
Why did you look at me
With care and joy?
Why did you see
That I was a great boy?
Why did you ask me
Never to leave?
Why did I ask you
To do the same for me?
Why did you show me
The beautiful you inside?
Why did you then
Run off and hide?
Why did I think
I was one swell guy?
Why did you
Tell me the same and lie?
Why did you end it
Saying I had issues?
Why did I even still
Long to kiss you?
Why did you tell me
You thought we could be friends?
Why did I believe you
And try and make amends?
Why do you avoid me
And tell me we should wait?
Why do I still care
And think it’s not too late?
Why do I still think
There’s something I did wrong?
Why is it still
For you that I long?
Why is it now
We don't even speak?
What is it about me
That you find weak?
I guess I have some issues
That give you some concern,
But I hope that we can works things out
And become close again in turn.
I know that we were us
For only two short weeks
But I still cared for you
And thought you very sweet.
But oh well I say
I have my box of tissues
I doubt you will write back
I guess I still have issues

Beauty
BC Durden Jul 2011
When beauty finds thee
Trapped in toiled imagination
the stars do shine more brilliant than any man hath beheld
But when beauty declines
A hole opens
And leaves thee gasping evermore
When thy to God do pray, to help thee find a way
Beauty beckons thee the very next day
Thy soul doth leap in joyous song
And thy heart does play along
But when thou doest, a revelation doth occur:
Happiness is never pure.
Even when upon the world thou sits,
Beauty may free thy mind.
Or tear at thy sight, make thee blind.
When beauty’s not but a wish,
Thou knowest nothing compares.
The worlds jealousy common shares.
When beauty plays a seductive dance,
A lustful art known by chance.
And every moment spent in beauty's grace
Leaves thee trapped in beauty's love.
The pleasure pain rest not only in thy chest
But in thine eye.
Thine nose.
Thine hand.
Thine skin.
Thine lips.
And beauty's touch is needed more
Then oxygen or water.
Thou wantest to bathe in beauty's touch
With bated breath.
Touch it.
Hold it.
But thou finds thyself blocked by a mountain made of glass.
This mountain is taller than thou could ever hope to climb,
Wider than thou ever hope to pass.
What of this?
Is thou free to climb,
Knowing full well thou will never see an end?
Or dost thou choose to walk,
Hope that a day will pass when mountains end and beauties begin do meet,
Ready to be wrapped in a loves embrace?
Or does thou journey elsewhere?
Scour the earth in a futile attempt to find something else
That can compare to a summers day?
To what dost thou owe beauty?
Nothing at all.
Even still, beauty is worth times sacrifice.
So I say, thou work hard.
Build thyself a stepping stone.
Fight for beauty and one day beauty shall be found.
Though the roads travel is like a window into time,
Endless, infinite, full of memories and regrets.
Still, journey on.
Never lose sight of beauty.
For win or loss, time is time well spent,
Chasing after an aureate phoenix.

Are You With Me?
BC Durden Jul 2011
Are you with me?
Endless nights of sleeplessness,
My mind wanders over your body.
Not in the sense of the stereotypical
But rather in a sense of closeness.
I sit tonight and pray,
Pray for a happy heart.
The feelings I bear for you
Will not be compromised by a past.

Are you with me?
The Sadness in my soul
Is ever lingering,
Ever with me.
Like my hair
You find so humorous,
The scars of my heart
Can only be hidden for so long.

Are you with me?
There is a summer rain sprinkling
Over an ocean as vast as time.
I would gladly give it to you,
But you must be ready.
Like the sea,
My ocean can be fierce.
It can rage and storm,
But it harbors life and beauty.
You are my moon,
A gravitational force
That pulls my ocean towards you,
Controlling it's tides.

Are you with me?
Like the Physics
You so diligently work,
I too require diligence.
I care nothing of
The attributes you find flaws in.
To me, those are “flaws” to be
Touched,
Kissed,
Caressed,
And held.
What I do care for,
Are your thoughts,
And your soul.
To me, those are to be
Loved,
Cherished,
Nourished,
And Exalted.

Are you with me?
Contrary to popular belief,
I am no reader of minds.
I must be told about your thoughts.
Do not take your mind lightly,
For it is a beautiful thing.
I long to know what passes through it.

Are you with me?
Diligence means being
Unconditional and unrestricted.
Speak your thoughts openly and honestly,
That is the only thing I ask of you.
I desire to make the world yours.
To take care of you
and be with you,
But only in exchange
For your freedom of self.

Are you with me?

A Child's Melody
BC Durden Jul 2011
Dark Days above
The Wind blowing through the trees,
playful amongst the leaves.
Murmurs of a distant train,
calling the song
of the old highway west,
Singing, Singing
The West is the Best.

The smoke fills the air,
shuffling feet everywhere.
That precious death
pouring in with every breath.
The Cancer that holds you
oh the self destruction
that calls you

A whisper is heard through the air
Unclear words for one so near.
Oh that pure melody
in a world filled with despair.
Oh that innocent voice
fills the air.

It floats and swirls,
singing of super heroes,
of imagined lands,
of love,
of ma and pa,
But the pain behind the song.
“Why can't my parents get along?”
But no one listens.
No one hears the voice
That beautiful melodic voice.
The Child's Melody.
It cuts me like a knife.
Seeps into my very being.

Are you so blind?
Life from life you can't ignore,
but you're doing a **** good job.
A miracle of this world,
he deserves so much more.

Why will no one listen?
Listen, LISTEN to this child's song!
He won't be for very long,
love him while he's so.
This worlds melancholy
Hasn't reached his heart.
LISTEN and rejoice!
Listen, listen listen to
The Child's Melody.

— The End —
