In a crazy world, here we liveth;
My thirst thy quenched.
Mommy I called you;
Assurance thy giveth me,
Verily, all shall be well.
Above all, ye said I shall rise;
Burden you carry; no more.
How I wish, I make thy proud;
From the slum, soon I will take you.
Smile; ye must,
Your sorrows, I will halt;
Soon your sorrows will turn joy,
And your cry turn smile.
For eternity, never would they last.
The love and aspirations I have for my mom, inspired me to pen down this poem, "Mommy Must Smile".
In Africa, especially my country Liberia, women face huge challenges when it comes to the upbringing of the child. Imagine, through those difficult situations, my mom still stand tall to see to it that I become great.
