Root
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
courtesan and slave to greed;
hallowed host to wicked deed;
ripping hearts from souls in need;
implanting each with evil seed;

stolen hope and dreams combine;
tortured souls by cold design;
marked by this immortal sign;
angelic life in quick decline;

sedated shells of emptiness;
secluded in deceptive bliss;
insulting glimpse of happiness;
neglected all but by its kiss.

Endgame
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
Charred & broken, left for dead;
hidden, lost, the mantle shed;

Anger, pain, the feelings raw;
racing, dazed, the mind unsure;

Locked, enclosed, the ancient lair;
open, set, the fatal snare;

Tempted, blind, the greed is all;
trapped, alone, the echoes call;

Empty, drained, the body dry;
finished, gone, no tears to cry.

Reminisce
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
A shadow drawn across the sky;
in darkness clothed I know not why;
Lamenting this eternal night;
escape is lost, no hope in sight;

Ever trapped, entombed in shade;
never freed, my memories fade;
Forever more to walk alone;
eternal darkness now my home;

Reminded of a time long gone;
no sign of light as once it shone;
Along this path I travel still;
no joy or love my heart to fill;

Denied that which could never be;
except in dream and fantasy;
Secluded here without you near;
I drift away and shed a tear.

walls do not imprison me;
nor chains restrict my whole;
guards do not watch over me;
nor kings command my soul;

laws do not direct my fate;
nor chance affect my goal;
time does not my life sedate;
nor routine take its toll;

love shows not it’s all to me;
nor hope present its light;
joy lends not its warmth to me;
nor freedom end this fight.

Bond
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
Smile for me and I’ll be yours,
souls entwined cross distant shores,

Dream of me and I’ll be free,
to hold your heart inside of me,

Think of me and I’ll be there,
inseparable- the perfect pair,

Wish for me your loving friend,
my heart and soul to you I send.

When all the world is cold and dark,
and life has left its cruel mark,

When you've lost all faith and hope,
and feel as if you cannot cope,

I’ll be right there within your heart,
and in that place we'll never part.

The One
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
in her eyes, see the skies;
see the world with no disguise;

in her heart, see the start;
see your place and play your part;

in her voice, see her choice;
see her love and then rejoice;

in her tears; see her fears;
see her safe throughout the years;

in her kiss, see her bliss;
see the light that others miss;

in her life, see your wife;
see the end to all her strife.

Time
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
fleeting moments, gone they seem,
secret thoughts, our minds redeem,

timeless points of endless joy,
countless lives we all destroy,

empty dreams of happy times,
restless nights where panic climbs,

days long gone we soon re-live,
forgotten acts we must forgive.

Origins
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
Sacred rites of time unknown,
echoes of the past in stone,

Remnants of most sacred tribes,
published works of ancient scribes,

Excerpts from the lives of kings,
noble crowns with falcon wings,

Tomes of ancient science lost,
secret skills new gods have cost.

To live in this immoral time,
uncouth and plagued by wretched crime,

Despised by all with vicious scorn,
our monarch blind with love forlorn,

Restrained for faith and for belief,
suspicious minds impose this grief.

Angel
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
touch the angel, feel her pain,
take her hand, be whole again,

kiss the angel, dry her tears,
keep her close as evil nears,

hold the angel, feel her breath,
hope in vain to escape death,

leave the angel, gone for good,
now alone where both you stood.

Beloved
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
The world outside is full of light,
there is no fear, no hate, no night,
love and life are free to all,
no one can hear the darkness call,

The world outside is colder now,
I feel the fear, the hateful row,
love is scarce, so very rare,
I hear the darkness, feel it's snare,

The world outside grows darker still,
I'm losing hope, I’ve no free will,
the darkness grows ever stronger,
I wonder if I’ll last much longer,

The world outside is black and cold,
my very soul feels weak and old,
I gaze into the shadowed lake,
my eyes, my hands, seem somehow fake,

The world outside has but one light,
one tiny glimmer through the blight,
a fire burning deep within,
I feel it's warmth throughout my skin,

The world outside is brighter now,
I see it glow, I hear it's vow,
I hear no darkness, feel no fear,
in happiness I shed a tear,

The world outside is full of light,
there is no fear, nor endless night,
my heart and soul feel full of life,
for now, you see, you are my wife.

Forsaken Love
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
Love once lost is ever lost,
to one who loves with all his heart,
when true love bears the final cost,
and love once found is torn apart.

Love is lost and never found,
to one who never knows it’s worth,
sorrowed tears a hollow sound,
in love there is no last re-birth,

Love is cold and without hope,
when all is lost and lovers part,
hearts when split can never cope,
without love, life must depart.

Thoughts of You
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
Here I sit among the shadows,
dreaming of the things we'd do,
heart hit hard by cupid's arrows,
lost within my thoughts of you,

Here I lie upon the ground,
the world seems like a noisy zoo,
singing softly to the wind,
lost within my thoughts of you,

Here I walk along the cliff,
wishing I were close to you,
thinking, praying, for a moment,
lost within my thoughts of you,

Here I stand alone and scared,
the world seems dark and colder too,
dreaming of a different time,
lost within my thoughts of you.

Empty
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
my heart is torn, my soul is bare,
my love is gone, no life to share,

in silent thought, my mind a-drift,
no love to hold, the shadows shift,

a rippled lake, my tortured soul,
in pain I cry, within this hole,

there is no light, no warmth inside,
my heart is black, alone I hide,

I have no love, I have no life,
no way to leave, or end this strife,

all hope is gone, my life is lost,
for precious love, my soul the cost,

please take me now, and end this night,
please take my life, and end this fight.

alone I pray to end this life,
alone I am, alone I stay,
alone I live, in endless strife,

alone I eat, alone I sleep,
alone I live, alone I dream,
alone I walk, alone I run,
alone I cry, alone I scream,

alone, the hole in which I lay,
alone I am, no love to send,
alone is home, alone is all,
alone I am, right to the end.

Apocalypse
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
Angels on a fiery wind,
screaming down at all who've sinned,
eyes a-gleam throughout the night,
frightened by unholy light,

the lord looks down upon the world,
a blackened darkness now unfurled,
no holy light can penetrate,
this cloud of sin will not sedate,

alas the world is at an end,
no mortal being shall now transcend,
the gates of heaven bolted tight,
the door to hell is now in sight,

Satan guards his world below,
he welcomes strangers, friend or foe,
to enter this, the world we've built,
a world of pain, of endless guilt,

a world to which we bring the young,
eternal torment now begun,
we live alone, no hope in sight,
enslaved in this eternal night.

Angels high above the earth,
gave to you this gift at birth,
a gift to sing like those above,
a voice that brings both joy and love,

Each time i hear your wondrous voice,
my heart and soul, they do rejoice,
you bring me up when i am down,
you make me smile each time i frown,

your music is my guiding light,
my guardian in the darkened night,
a burning torch within the dark,
upon each quest that i embark,

lost, without your voice, i'd be,
it means so very much to me,
your talent is by no means small,
you are a gift from god, to all,

an angel's voice is seldom found,
but with such voice, you have been crowned,
please stay with us and sing your song,
forever would not be too long.

Forbidden Love
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
this love is like a burning flame,
a feeling of eternal pain,

a fire deep beneath my skin,
reminding me of this great sin,

I see the world with jaded eyes,
a curtain drawn across the skies,

I feel the wind rush through the trees,
as guilt now brings me to my knees,

forbidden love, as like the fruit,
has taken me, my life now moot.

My freedom taken from my hands,
redemption lost in time's great sands.

Love Wish
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
I wish you were with me tonight,
My room lit up by candlelight,
I’d look at you from toe to head,
Your hair a a-glow, a fiery red,

I’d hold you gently in my arms,
To clear your mind of any qualms,
I’d whisper slowly in your ear,
To tell that you need not fear,

I’d run my fingers through your hair,
Then down your cheeks, your skin so fair,
I’d kiss you on your lips so sweet,
A kiss to sweep you off your feet,

I’d take you in my arms once more,
And pray you’d stay forever more,
To always have you by my side,
Would be, to me, the greatest pride.

Vampyr
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
on cold, dark nights, he can be found,
hid from the lights, upon the ground,

with blood-shot eyes he stalks his prey,
no worldly-ties, no words to say,

his soul is locked beneath the soil,
his body trapped in endless toil,

he hungers for another life,
a chance to end his bitter strife,

alas he must, and always shall,
remain a slave, an immor-tal,

his lust to ****, to drink the life,
with fangs that shame a hunter's knife,

this want and need have all control,
and keep him from his mortal soul,

a slave to blood, to evil needs,
deprived of love, and all good deeds.

Dark Walk
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
I live and walk the world at night,
my home and haven have no light,
my heart and soul are black and grim,
my life is filled with naught but sin,

I live alone and without hope,
I often wonder how I cope,
I live on death, and feed on life,
I lavish in each mortal's strife,

I walk amongst you through the dark,
as if I’m some immortal shark,
I hunger for all that you've seen,
my lust is for what could have been,

I fear not death, but feareth life,
it cuts me deep, as if a knife,
it's blade runs right into my core,
I wonder if I will endure,

I once had hopes and dreams and prayers,
I once had love and faith and cares,
alas I’ve lost all that I had,
enslaved and chained, my soul is bad,

I call to mortals, through the cold,
please value that which you hold,
that which I, and many more,
have lost, now and forever more,

Think about the world around,
each tiny ant upon the ground,
and value all that life has here,
and never hide from any fear,

We call you from the darkened cave,
deep within an earthly grave,
Think before you enter here,
live your life, cry a tear,

Live a life of joyous games
and seek all that this life contains,
This life is yours and that is all,
and never to the depths you’ll fall.

Peace
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
across these lands of varied minds,
live creatures born of different kinds,
each of which is taught the way,
to live and love, to work and play,
this knowledge is, without a doubt,
impossible to live without,
knowledge, given by another,
mother, sister, father, brother,
no creature can learn this alone,
the only way is to be shown,
and so we all must co-exist,
and never must we try resist,
for every creature, man and beast,
must try to live as one, at least,
if we fail, we all shall be,
no longer part of land or sea,
but if we try, and we succeed,
we all will live, for this great deed,
for peace is not a foreign dream,
nor as impossible as it would seem,
if we can all just make it work,
no longer will an evil lurk,
no longer would we live in fear,
no longer would we shed a tear,
peace is not up in the skies,
it's here if we open our eyes,
see not the world you're told to see,
but see instead what it could be,
a place where we can all be free,
man & beast in harmony,
and so I leave you with a choice,
to put unto your inner voice,
live in peace, or die at war,
we all decide the final score,
I do believe this is the way,
we all must live from day to day,
if we all wish to survive,
cast aside your doubts and strive,
to bring together all the earth,
regardless of belief or birth,
the choice is yours, and yours alone,
at stake, your life and all you own.

Only You
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
When I think of you my love,
My heart, it soars so high above,
And makes me feel all warm inside,
So wonderful, I almost cried,

When I think of you, my dear,
My mind, It does become unclear,
Then all I can think of is you,
And nothing else on Earth will do,

When I think of you, my sweet,
All other thoughts, they do retreat,
Which leaves my mind with one thought only,
‘Without you, my life is lonely’,

When I think of you, my heart,
I pray we never grow apart,
For you are all my heart desires,
‘Tis you for whom my heart aspires.

Together
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
You and I, in love forever,
All we wish, to be together,
As of yet, this cannot be,
We cannot be just you and me,

But on my heart, this I swear,
One day we’ll meet, and then we’ll share,
What we feel about each other,
Free from thoughts of any other,

To be alone, just you and me,
My only wish, I say to thee,
For you mean more to me than life,
You clear my mind of all my strife,

You mean the world to me and more,
I’ll love you now and ever more,
My heart belongs to you alone,
You’ve shown me love, a world unknown.

A Demon's Hymn
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
the land is dark, all hope is lost,
our wondrous world, this war has cost,
devoid of human touch and love,
denied a place with god above,

our bodies trapped beneath the soil,
our souls enslaved to work and toil,
bound by chains we cannot see,
denied the right to be set free,

we exist without free will,
born without this wondrous skill,
we must live and never die,
denied the right to even cry,

perhaps one day an end will come,
freedom, if only for some,
to start again, this world of ours,
restore the water, trees, and flowers,

to regain all that we have lost,
for that we would pay any cost,
to live and love, to work and play,
to see the sun begin each day,

alas this dream will never be,
reality for all to see,
we shall remain eternal slaves,
to do that which our master craves,

all I pray is that this dream,
lives on and on, an endless stream,
within the hearts of everyone,
in case true justice can be done.

Tides
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
If only I could touch your face,
and tell you how you have hurt me,
to make our two souls one again,
restore what once was you and me.

A vampire's bite may sting and bleed,
but that's nothing to what you've done,
my heart broke into a million pieces,
why could you not leave it as one?

You gave me strength when I was weak,
but it was fake- though I believed,
no one can question what was done,
for it was me that you deceived.

Maybe someday I’ll forgive,
on the day this pain subsides,
I'll never stop my love for you,
although our love is like the tides,

It rises up and covers all,
then it sinks, beneath the shore,
I really hope we'll be together,
my love for you goes to the core.

All I hope is that you change,
for as you are, you make me cry,
for this is true, I swear it is,
I’ll love you till the day I die,

But love and like are different things,
I love you more than I can say,
but I don't like what you've become,
if you can change in that one way,

Then I could like you once again,
if that was done, I know we would,
be together once again,
I really do believe we could.

So, my love, I say once more,
change for me, and I’ll be yours once more,
the love we had was something special,
to be with you is what I long for.

True Love
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
As I lay down in my bed,
My thoughts begin to roam my head,
And as I think things through and through,
All I can think of is YOU,
Once that thought is on my mind,
I leave this troubled world behind,
And travel to a wondrous place,
Far above the Human Race,

For in this place my heart is free,
To state my claim of love to thee,
So if you feel the same way too,
And if your claim of love is true,
Then I will see you in that place,
Far above the Human Race,

And in this place, I do declare,
Our souls will make the perfect pair,
Our love, the fruit of ancient myth,
It’s you to whom my heart is with,
I wish that we were in that place,
Far above the Human Race,

I’ve sat and thought for hours on end,
To find an answer, I intend,
I search my mind over again,
To pry this answer from its den,
A single question, yet to ask,
To find the answer, is your task,
What is name of this place,
So far above the Human Race?

Broken Heart
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
The day is cold, the sky is dark,
upon my heart you've left a mark,
a scar that will not ever heal,
never again, true love I’ll feel,

In my heart, I do despair,
I have no love, nor any care,
for anything within this life,
for anyone, this bitter strife,

The day you left, my life did
end,my heart and soul, no way to mend,
I never thought that what we had,
would end so soon nor feel so bad,

I thought I’d learnt to hold my heart,
to stop love ripping me apart,
our love, I thought would last forever,
I thought we'd always be together,

So now I hope you're satisfied,
my heart, my soul, you've crucified,
you broke my heart, split it in two,
then threw it down, crushed by your shoe,

My life will never be the same,
you once were nice, it's such a shame,
what you've become is something mean,
my love for you, you did demean,

You were my first, and now my last,
my love has died, so very fast.
so now I live, yet have no love,
my heart no longer soars above,

What once was us, is now no more,
of that fact, I am now sure,
I leave you now, in all my pain,
I doubt you'll ever feel the same,

This is the last you'll hear from me,
I wish it did not have to be,
but this is all that I can do,
to save my life, no thanks to you,

Farewell to you, young miss heart-breaker,
good bye to you, young miss love-killer,
I hope you find the one for you,
and never know what I’ve been through.

Ripples
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
The ripples on a still blue lake,
inspire my heart, this poem to make,
a shadow cast upon the ground,
the feeling when you're not around,

the deep cut of a hunter's knife,
the depth you've sunk into my life,
the stars and moon, high up above,
all overpowered by your love,

I long to look upon your face,
the day we meet, and we embrace,
and make each second last an hour,
only true-love has this power,

You mean more to me than life,
each day without you is a strife,
I pray each day that we will chat,
alas I’ve not been granted that,

But soon, I hope, we will unite,
and talk all through the long dark night,
and do that which I long to do,
to tell you how much I love you.

Dream Girl
Arik Fletcher Feb 2010
In the dream I had last night,
I saw an angel dressed in white,
Surrounded by a shining aura,
A-kin to that of the aurora,
She turned and stared, her gaze like fire,
Her eyes, they made my head perspire,
And as I stared into those eyes,
My heart, it leapt into the skies,
At last I felt alive, and whole,
For she had touched my very soul,
And then a spell, she cast upon me,
Binding me, her slave-to-be,
Not bound by body, nor by mind,
She bound my heart, on which she signed,
'We are one, now and forever,
From now on we'll be together'
So, a question for you now,
Who was the girl who made this vow?
The answer is, and this is true,
the girl I dreamt about is YOU.
And so a vow I make to you,
For that is all that I can do,
'I give to you my word and bond,
My love will last, now and beyond'
For my heart belongs to you,
Anything you say, I’ll do,
My love for you will last forever,
I hope one day we'll be together,
And so my love, my one and only,
Please don’t ever leave me lonely,
For now that I have you, my love,
My heart can reach the clouds above,
I’ll love you till the day I die,
For if I lost you, I would cry,
My life would have no worth at all,
My soaring heart would quickly fall,
For I was made to be with you,
And that’s a fact, I know is true,
For our love was meant to be,
One heart, one whole, just you and me,
Our love, the alpha and omega,
Our love, the perfect true-love saga,
One day I’ll be with you my love,
And then we’ll reach the clouds above.
This I swear, my solemn vow,
Alas it cannot happen now,
But for now, I give to you,
The gift of love, a love that’s true.
I give this gift to you in tears,
a gift to last you through the years,
for you and I are bound together,
a bond to last for now, forever!
