I want you to know
one thing.

You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.

Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.

If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.

If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,
and you decide
to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off
to seek another land.

But
if each day,
each hour,
you feel that you are destined for me
with implacable sweetness,
if each day a flower
climbs up to your lips to seek me,
ah my love, ah my own,
in me all that fire is repeated,
in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
my love feeds on your love, beloved,
and as long as you live it will be in your arms
without leaving mine
You have tried calendars, and
a house bedecked in post-its.
I know. Try to put a collar on time,
it sheds all over your furniture.

You think time is:
You think life is:
The sun goes down,
the dew comes up.

You think time is:
You think life is:
Two hours with a movie.
Four hours with an amusement park.
Six with a car ride.

You think time is
an anxious pet
fed and watered
who lives in the same house
and sleeps in a different bed
who sometimes needs to be let outside.

That is not what time is about.
Time is about
a rusty cabinet door that squeaks when you open it.
A squeak you never noticed before.
Time is about,
when you have piled enough leaves enough autumns,
your heart makes the sound of a spoon in a teacup,
and then where do you go?
Sweden?
Ask me.
Maybe we all are the pins to
         explosive ideas
and the world will shake apart
                   once we let ourselves go
One way
Stood at the top of a knoll
                A new low
No waiting looks welcome
                               One ultimate perspective

      A thousand open faces
                                                     Enjoy the passage of time
You had me at
                        Today matters, darlin'
You had me at
                        Archipelago Lotus Flowers
3 pink hearts, an ornament of a house
Your world in
                        Every
                                 Square
                                             Inch
Just for fun
                         Make it worth remembering
Just for fun
                         Love heals (hazy yellow dreams)

      These hand-forged items
                                               Absolutely ridiculous
Became beautiful earth
                           that happily shapes us

       Though our feet may leave
                                             Have faith in the future

Jackson's trespassing music
(Written following a stroll through downtown Nashville, USA)
We are crazed. Compassionately stupid in
Everything there is to be considered known

Let us gather then in the summer heat
On the blacktops above our fathers and grandsons
And run until we breathe blood, until we taste death on our lips
Then let us hold hands and take another step
What is my aim?

A fantastic query to which I have many answers
I aim to explore the most beautiful and most mundane places on our planet
And keep secrets when they should be kept
And fly to great heights and sink to great depths and
Traverse lengthy tripwires that stretch between skyscrapers in the Mojave Desert

But tonight my aim is to be with you
And be with you
And be (where was it again?)

Ah, yes. With you.
You know you've been searching for something
As for what that dewdrop holds, anything but a compassionate smack
Upside your head inside a tree beside
Our waterfall

Stinging water, soothing thorns expand under parting skin
Only to laugh as the crocodile laughs

Did we really think it could monopoly the skies?
What a falsehood
