Is the moon tired? she looks so pale
Within her misty veil:
She scales the sky from east to west,
And takes no rest.

Before the coming of the night
The moon shows papery white;
Before the dawning of the day
She fades away.

Life without you, is no life my dear
It hurts far too much and I think that it’s clear
I do not belong here, at least not without you
I think I now know what it is I will do
I’ll go down to the tracks where you took your last breath
Stretch my arms out to meet you as I too embrace death

You left today.
Just took off,
Gone to find yourself in new ways,
To explore the world.
And I am so proud of you for doing this.
So proud that you are willing
And ready
To be so brave
And adventurous.
I am so happy that you are happy,
Doing this thing that you so badly
Want to do.
I am jealous, even,
Of your ambition and your confidence.
Of how you feel so comfortable leaving
Everything
And everyone
Behind.
I know you, though.
And I know you'll be fine.
And I know you'll have fun.
And I know this is so important for you,
Such an awesome experience.
But I miss you.
And I guess that's the bottom line,
Isn't it?

Where did you go?
Why did you leave?
It’s too hard without you.
I’m struggling to just breathe.

Drunk as drunk on turpentine
From your open kisses,
Your wet body wedged
Between my wet body and the strake
Of our boat that is made of flowers,
Feasted, we guide it - our fingers
Like tallows adorned with yellow metal -
Over the sky's hot rim,
The day's last breath in our sails.

Pinned by the sun between solstice
And equinox, drowsy and tangled together
We drifted for months and woke
With the bitter taste of land on our lips,
Eyelids all sticky, and we longed for lime
And the sound of a rope
Lowering a bucket down its well. Then,
We came by night to the Fortunate Isles,
And lay like fish
Under the net of our kisses.

I took you to the edge,
hand in hand
one last time.

It's funny how
the weather always
knew the mood.

There was so much rain,
so much pain.

"I've always wanted to fly..."
You pulled your hand away
I crouched too close to the edge,

"If you jump...
you won't fly.
You'll just be falling."
I've never seen a face
so blank, so indifferent.

"I wouldn't be breaking a trend,
I've been falling,  my whole life."

I stood, wiping hair from your face,
kissed you once
and then grew wings.
Another dream.

She loves me
She loves me not
She loves me
She loves me not
She loves me not
She loves me not
It always comes back to this
Affection from afar
One sided, hidden
Longing infecting my every thought
Every moment, every action
Defined by the ultimate question
What if?

What if, she did love me
How would things be
Nights together under the stars, secrets swapped like treasures
Or how it usually is
Cold
Empty
Painful
I don't search for an answer to What if
Because I am afraid to find out

you are a pause

you are the second
before the air raid
an anticipation so loud it's deafening

you are the stillness, the static,
pins and needles between lightening
and thunder. 1. . . 2 . . . 3. . .

you are the heartbeat, last blink
separating bullet and flesh
crescent cuts bleed from empty hands

you are red lights. stop
knuckles white through a
raindropped windshield

you are elevators
early morning coffee stains
shifting eyes. look away.

you are the dead air
on a faraway radio station
bent antenna. turn the dial. silence

you are the needle
on that half broken phonograph
sidling arthritically away, back to sleep

you are the skip a beat
nervous lip bitten hesitation, envelope stamped
staring into the letter box. just let go

you are punctuation. . .

you are the hyphen
splitting words in two
leaving lonely nothings on different pages

you are 0:00

you are the force that
draws our eyes together
if only for an instant
I made some changes. I never edit... but I guess. Anyway, deleted the old one, here's the new one
