I know you don't wish to come
where the spirits fly and we all let go
I know you don't wish to come
but I will take you there
pull you from your cloud so high
where the wind whispers tragedies
I know you don't wish to come
but not to see is a travesty

won't you please come with me
take my hand
one day you'll see
it was worth it all in the end
when you finally let love descend

It's beautiful here where the sky meets the sea
even blades of grass muster a smile
I know you don't wish to come
but I will take you there
from this view you'll never wish to flee
let me take you down for a while
I know you don't wish to come
but you'll finally see the sun

won't you please come with me
take my hand
one day you'll see
it was worth it all in the end
when you finally let love descend

Numb

Tear drops on tin foil
pouring down slick silver oil
every surface bleeds, razor blade paper cut
over time the blood turns to rust
the girl who once felt love will be dying all alone
the tears once dried now turned to stone
the sun disappeared, clouds cascade down as the beast devours
cold and empty in the final hour
gouged from soul, heart, then life
now a disease from which to cringe
she became a corpse by example
how to ignore dreams and succumb

You said we could do anything
you were right
so why am I doing it alone
Slowly I fall apart
As this fight erodes
my layers of steel, stone and bone

Weathering away grains of time
Slip, slipping across the sky line
Awaiting the day when it's finally safe to say
goodbye

Did you know about my lockbox
Hidden deep within my dark
Kept safe for a rainy day
A hole perpetuated when you left
The time will be right
When nothing more is left to say

Weathering away grains of time
Slip, slipping across the sky line
Awaiting the day when it's finally safe to say
goodbye

You said we could do anything
Then why did I do it alone
When you let me fade into the cold

I did not wish to return to the light
On this last night the time was right
The line went dead
Nothing more was said
Oh lockbox
My only sweet friend
In the end
In the end

The piece of me that isn't dead cares
that piece is what will always make you aware
as my ghost becomes numb in the shadowy corner chair

in the dark, sweet darkness
you left me there to wane
in the dark, sweet darkness
so darkness I became

I hear a passionate song
but I'm a ghost my passions long been gone
an apparition, I haunted you, you'd had it in for me all along

in the dark, sweet darkness
you left me there to wane
in the dark, sweet darkness
so darkness I became

you can't make amends with a ghost
all I had to offer was all you hated most
if you ever want a tall flask of cold, black coffee I'll be your host

In the dark, sweet darkness
you left me there to wane
in the dark, sweet darkness
so darkness I became

as it swallowed me whole
and lay out my shame
I see the change in man.
                Evolution is a strange thing.
                                   Salvation
                                   Redemption
                                   Hope.
