Ruins
Andrew Tinkham May 2015
Desolated place
Rise up!
Seed in soil
Flower in bloom
You have not been forgotten.
You may not be forgotten...

Workers
Unite!
Lay the tracks
Till the ground

Train roll on

People bring your love to this place!
Make it your home, if just for a night!
Bring out your cash
Extend your might!

For whatever ruins you behold
Be a builder.
Your dreams, some dreams...
Remain unsold.

Hell's Angels' Replacements
Andrew Tinkham May 2015
Boom.
How are you?
Do I have your attention?
How smart are you?
Never mind.
I like joking.
I know you've...
Been smoking.

Room! Room!
Let's go now.
I'm tired.
Don't need to...
Get bored now.
Hell's Angels'
Replacements.
We invade...
Your basements.
We paint on...
Your daughters.
The iron's hot.
It solders.
Don't bleed now.
It's miles.
Just heed now.
It smiles.

Sometimes
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2015
Sometimes all you need is sleep.
Sometimes all you need is food.
Sometimes all you need is art.
Sometimes all you need is good.

Bring everything you have to every table.
Feel like a diver when you get in the thick.
Gratefully accept the trials of your survival.
Graciously reject the mistakes of your fathers.

Never Again
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2015
A man came up to me leaving the bus station and asked if I could spare a few dollars for a meal. I guess He wasn't afraid of my black eye. I reached in my pocket and felt stingey. I pulled out a one and said, "I got a dollar for a Red Wings win." "Alright", he sighed.

Power laughed at me and said, "Is that all you've got?"
It wasn't.
Divine justice would seem to me to be saying, here: you were left with two dollars after the Red Wings' two-nothing loss in Game 7. The man asked for a few bucks and you didn't even look him in the eye. Other things on your mind? Sure. But take this lesson to heart. Never forget the weak, until every last one is strong.

You will always be wet,
I will always be hard,
And it will be all over the place.
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2015
They don't like me.
They don't matter.
Talk is out now.
It's just chatter.
I really see it,
Much fatter.
Funny because usually I only see the best.

I,
Feel,
Like a ghoOost
on her toast...

Baby let me be her breakfast, you are you now we are we.

OooooOoooooOooo...
Herrrr, became youuuu,
And LoOove, became usssss.
I don't talk now, to strangers.
I give you all of my lust.

I'll see you at lunchtime, when I walk, to work.
Then we'll have our indulgetimes,
And want to take off our shirts.
Oh well,
Sweetest hell,
I have tasted yet...
Is my LadyBird of the register
We did everything
When we met.

Now when I, say hell, I mean to say as of yet.
This hell's got most heavens,
But I'll sure never forget...
The way you looked, with your hair down...
We'll get our heaven, you can bet.

Not a Love Whore
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2015
I'm not a love *****.
I want something more.

I've seen it build now, seen it chilled now.

I'm not a love *****, I want something more.

Vegetarians burn my cookies.
Planetariums steal my lookies.

I'm not a
Love *****.
I want
Something more.

Optional.
Complacent.
Optimal.
Basement.

I'm not a love *****.
I want something more.

I've seen you and you've seen her.
Words of love caressed her ear.
Ears are nothing without a diction.
Diction's nothing without direction.
Reread nothing til you're blue in the face.
Gristeled youth will join the human race.

I'm not a love *****.
Give me something more.

Jagged Meter (Bored)
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2015
How's about you flip under your somersault.
Go go go go go don't sleep now don't eat now.
How happy would you be with your very own brown cow?
Do you like milk now?
Chocolate or silk now?
Tightrope or stilts now?
Granted, I don't wanna see you ever again.
I want your breath wasted.
I want you forgotten.
You will be forgotten.
You slime ball you dirt bag
You cheesewheel you cumrag.

You were born to a groping lady who was bent out of shape each and every last season.

Wild at Heart
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2015
I sought you
I found you
I fight you
Surround you
Breathe deep now
I pound you
Oblivion
Caress you
Six billion
Obsess you
Not healthy
Forgotten
Not sweet now but
Rotten
I've smelled true
And gotten
The fine fruit
She brought and
I've climbed every mountain
I sail on a fountain
That makes all the pennies
Throw up
Like the raven
Can't shut,
Stop behavin'
Can't seek
Their own maven
Can't treat their own kin
I get sad for them often I'm still glad I brought them when they let enough light in I'm barely goodnight and I treat you I treat we I drink up your sweet tea I thirst for her anger but I'm quenched in my hangar...

Soaring
Pouring
Flying
Sighing

Then I look out the window
I see her in sandals
I look for your weakness
You laugh with a Preakness.
I promise her the grand daddy of them all
Then we ball, and we ball, and we ball, through the stall.

Till we fall
Not we, you
I mean me
And my sweet tooth
My love is a phone booth,
I have no one to call.

You should see her
Desert you
I'm sad she had to see you
Her eyes are for sunshine
And you are the gutter.
For you, I bet, she would probably 'forget the butter'.

Still
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2015
Somile.
I'm back.
I haven't been away.
I've been drowning.
Of course...
It's been a sea of happiness.

Water inflates my lungs and then there is nothing to do
          but shout.
Sounds invade my ears and there is nothing to do
          but dance.
Light reflects my soul and there is nothing to do
          but shine.
The world is yours but don't you ever forget the world is mine.

I will lift you up.
I will make you sing.
I will make you remember you are a part of everything.

Now breathe deep in nothing.
Thank her gentle caress.
Without her YOU would be nothing.
Light something for this.

If you light ****, I say, "Good job, don't forget the day,"
If you light a torch, I say, "May it show your way."
If at last you starve, I say, "Eat, you are not done."
If at night you glow, I say, "The stars, too, have their fun."

Be evervescent, iridescent, soon to grab your hold.
Find your fight, sail each night, marvel at what you behold.
Sing your song, make it long; play what you can and you will.
Be alright, be a sight, laugh til you laugh, until...

Everstill.

Or Neverstill?

Well there she goes again she's gunnin' her mouth again
I ain't really listenin
No not right now

Well there he goes again, Duke Ellington, got a strange feeling again
Rain puddles glistenin
Oh yes right now

I feel myself a-peekin up over some wall

                                                                   Of stucco

I's strainin' my eyes but I can't see it all

The rain falls, she tells me where it hurts and I remember to love her just
           before my love deserts

I'm almost on empty

Gas up we're movin on but now we're on a different song
Just as sad, little sweeter

I Don't Mind
Andrew Tinkham Jul 2014
You in you out I'm excited again
Maybe you maybe not but we'll not pretend
I love you a lot and there ain't no doubt
Maybe you maybe not but we're gonna find out

I met her on a drunken night when I put my head down on her shoulder
We danced I suppose I lifted arms just to hold her

I'm in love with the look in your eyes
When you are angry ain't it just a disguise
There's evening empires and who's got the crown now?
We pay it no mind if one decides to be the clown now

I asked her to marry me when I heard a voice to tell me to
I was layin' down in bed it said ask her she might let you
I says I haven't got a ring and many things we'd have to do
It says you pay it no mind now who's gonna forget you?
I asked her to marry me she asked if I was serious
How could she not know I's serious I thought she's beggin' me to
Well I buried my head and said yes and she said yes I said oh my and then
I kissed her and then nothing happened...

A cloud descended like a dust and my head hurt but I was tired
The next day I had the most brilliant idea at work I said, Hey! I'll call it off!

Didn't see her after work I had another engagement, seeing the new City
Treasurer being sworn in he was my step dad
When I got home oh man my head was really throbbin' now and I could
            hardly stand
Pile of dishes, pile of clothes every gadget turned on and ev'ry window
            closed
I said don't mind the dishes and let me turn off all of those there was a
grouchin' in my voice and I took off most my clothes
I opened up a window let the evening air in, started on the dishes and she
            thinks it's a sin
Well I got to bed and she was cold as the North pole I forgot my idea and
            started workin' on my soul
Next morning finally comes and she's still not lookin' at me and I told her
let's forget it she said hey why not forget 'we'
I tried to explain that marriage ain't all that there is and it was clouding up
my mystery let's just leave it where it is
She just drove me to work I said you should make up your mind, cause
you can sure leave me I ain't the crawlin' back kind

What this is all about
Maybe you maybe not
I got my mystery back
And we're gonna find out

And I Love Her She Knows
Andrew Tinkham Jun 2014
My love's now the chandelier of my life from which all others do hang

I want to climb her and swing from her and gaze at her sparkle

Never before has my love been so fine

Each few days she gets finer

I's up to bat and I hit a sharp liner

Over the head of a short stop to left center

My smile was her smile and I slowed into second

Now I'm laughing and now in tears of sweet joy for my love and her sunshine

And she is the brightest and she is the highest and every last second of this life I've spent searching reminds me of how I want nothing more

And when times get hard I'm gonna learn quick to just smile because every last time it gets better much better

I'm always surprised I can be surprised I wonder why

I'm not expecting but it's always coming

Time after time after time after time

Better and better my love is a sweater

Have her in heat and slip with her within her

Then I pause in her eyes and pools fill with Jim's mystic heated wine

The pools overflow on and on it goes dance under water falls no need to end

I have found my friend

I'll not be lonely now she loves me that's the one that holds me

Well I'm crutching to the next whiskey bar.
When I get there set my poles down say, "Bucket of Old Style please
          and a-whiskey."
Duke's her name and by seven it will be the only thing that matters.
I'm having me a happy hour, then an elated hour.
Then I'm going wherever my bleary eyes take me, crutching along and Jim
         on the song.
Well I'm headed to the next whiskey bar, if I don't get there then I won't get
         too far.
Yeah I am going to the next       whiskey bar.

"Yourself and everything that gives a home to all the world."
"What is this thing that gives a home to all the world?"
"It's a very welcoming thing with much wisdom and all it wants is some company."
"If it's so wise, why does it want company?"
"Because, child, if we were all alone, who would laugh at our jokes or hug us or how would we play baseball?"
"You mean this home is a place for the Tigers to play?"

Multilove
Andrew Tinkham May 2014
I looked for the One babe you know I did.

I was always planning a bit, kinda guarding in case that one vision of a ragged future came true and then with a really big bad world I was gonna want to hold just one babe so she had to be perfect.

Now I see the ragged future will not come to be and we definitely made the technicolor world full of music and perfect people and no need for rules, violence or greed.

To each it's own kingdom under God's holy reign and we'll not want to do one thing that could hurt anyone and we won't.

Everyone will have enough, and greed will make one look so foolish that one will blush and give things away.

Everyone with violence in the heart will be outnumbered and far inferior to anyone who doesn't want violence.

Everything bad will seem silly and we'll be laughing.

Multilove will be our great gift and we will love everyone and everything properly.

I for one, can't wait!

Wrapped in Multilove and I'm just a new thing. It's a vehicle and yet another and more grand trip to begin and it is made of the reward of the last trip. Multilove is infinite peace and really the most social thing my small brain can comprehend right now. So we're meeting wherever for the next indeterminate amount of time and my guess is the trick will be to learn every heart, giving my own throughout the way, and wind right back to the goal of the last trip, the One. Many will have much *** and I'll want to but I'm going to be so discerning because it's in my best interest. See you all so soon, soon, soon.

Trance Endance
Andrew Tinkham May 2014
I crashed through the ceiling I don't need a floor now I used to be reeling but the void's my support now.

Doldrums are rolling but if I stay patient I know I'll be happy I stayed when something comes up and meets me.

I was a bit worried that this was where I was going because I loved the ride but honestly the end is even better.

There is only beauty now, gain and loss but no pain or cost.

I still love sadness but she's now a perfect lover and there is more time for her and more time for infinitely more perfect beings and I'm glad I skirted every snare and I'm growing growing growing like my fuzzy wuzzy hair.

All I can say for now is beware idolatry, learn what it is and guard yourself from it. This is a time for beautiful expression and every one of us has many things to show and create. Remember it was Jesus's God who got us here and we thank him and we'll be fine.

There is no turning back and what's direction?
There is time and we know time, us, here, in this parade.
There is heat, warming glowing.
It's made of love and that's where we live.
Endless opportunities and surprises, magic milkshakes, tricks and spices.
Love your neighbor love your neighbor love your uncle and remember to thank her it's hard to live, death is unity, separate once but we found out how to unite right here in this little old life baby in the parade, soft parade, warm parade, thought parade.

Don't Forget Her
Andrew Tinkham May 2014
Be a poet let the words forth.  Reach back and swiftly drag them to the open. Anything you like is what another ear would hope to hear and reasons can't be reason and her eyes can't be forgotten.

I've seen lovely things just get old unused and rotten. Fair or not her hair may be I shall not drown my misery. My sadness floats within my sight and when I shiver deep at night sometimes I wrap arms 'round my gloom and hold her closely tight.

Safe and warm now with my sadness I pry into her secrets and she splits softly sadly thankfully. She says, "I'm not all and never will be never was a say for me you keep me close don't think you could obliterate me give me room I need it baby it's okay when your happiness babe comes over let you walk in front of me I'll keep out of sight and watch the lovely way you kiss her from each shadow and I'll not rush you and as long as you don't try to ditch me or think you could even forget me I will be here when miss happy goes along her merry way and you will wrap your arms around me and remember you like my kiss more anyway."

Margaret is clever it's astounding.
I knew youth was coming like this but usually when I saw it up close they we're just these maniacal computer wiz kids but this girl seems to party.
I hope she meets Alex Turner someday.
I hope she meets Andrew VanWyngarden too.
I don't know why, but I guess it's because they're dashing and she deserves the best.
I hope the world don't tangle her up too much and don't sit on her like a fat bully.
I know she can dodge it though and we need her and her vision of peace like a checkpoint.

Just Like Jelly
Andrew Tinkham May 2014
So under under they clapped like thunder.
Rolled it over and dove around.
Picked up love and held it till it broke and splashed on their heads with a
           soft wet sound.
Drenched in jelly oozing warmth they licked their lips and spanked the
season unforgiveness not forgotten they mash their fists til winter
           knows their name.
"Dread us winter take what's coming you're on time-out til we're famous
not ambitious never stressing eat your veggies and blow your
            storm.
But not here no we're the North and you've been dried up stop your crying
have fun south now count your blessings we'll talk later if you're
            game."
We've got dancing, we've got sunshine, drenched in jelly all the same.
Lick our lips cause we're relaxing how's it taste like raspberry chocolate?
They're not happy we'll be for them just like jelly not a crying shame.

See you where there is nothing you make it everything.
Blame it on earthlings and get bored with breathing.
Fan out your plume for you're prettier than reading.
And oh how I love to see the words on the page.

Watching you falling triumphant we cried out.
Yours truly great mist, mist of wind, bolder rain now.
Let us just another time try to call you by name.

Andrew Tinkham Apr 2014
For everyone lithe to represent you for your glory, we thank you.
We love to see beauty and hold it up like a picture to the sun.
Then we go dancing, we knock them out.
Peasants danced, poor little girls without a word said more with their grace than so many ristocrats spit out of fancy schools.
We were upset to learn we had to do a little work, but elated to discover we had ability.
Then sometimes it was just easy. My God I love easy.
And when we're lazin are we not just in our right place and we know it.
Perfect laziness and horizontal. Let your arm drop to the cool wood floor.

Waldo the Dejected One
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2014
Think of this one poor lad he was dejected. Always rubbin his knees and kneelin on spitters. He's really off of their gambit and they ruin his indecision. Land on he just rolls it up and leans along. Lift down he doesn't give it half an ounce; Waldo's all for one. Next he wishes he could hurry a warbler and the thing just flies away. His loss or he ain't even tryin. Face of the clock starts drooling and he knows it's time to roller up or start splashing. Kid lived for knockin people around it but he ain't never really been touched. Get's tired of wishin and washin, wants something real solid and soft. Sometimes floating up no doubt but there ain't nothing up there wants to just hold him and he's always comin back down.

He made it out just in time really. It's just mad how time flips. One minute you're drinking a lorry and the next your coughing up swizzers. Don't really mind being dejected but awful awful just list out your tentacles each with it's own name. Satisfaction. Cost. Worth. Shame. Horror. Splendor. Oh no you ain't no octopus darling you ain't no spider. It's six for you so crawl on that.

Slipping down the line it's hound houses to the left and a picture box straight above. Kid looks at his feet guesses it's time to get Suzy. Suzy's always reaping what lads waste and she gathers it up like yarn when it's knitted. I mean what she makes ain't goin in no gallery but it's cozy and will make you look wiser a hundred an 2. Take it off she's a shining racer with pearls as ******* and turns around you wonder where the sun went. I mean really this girls a knock out but she ain't nothing to hold on to. She'd sooner be in the air then stay one extra day with you. And you ain't even a losser like so many that only wanna hold her. If your stars be shining you may see her no doubt. One word, hard: press er shoulder down quick with your tiny finger or else just leave off her. Suzy walks with mister dejected and the season's on his breath. She steps over dead animals only once when there's people around. When the planet starts turning I mean really starts spinning, they mix together and cover everything like paint. Suzy and the dejected one splash your way and you're red, her way and she's glit'rin, roadway and there's accidents, but oh how they'll go on. Catch them in their proper form they'll be your smiling baby for you. Try to upstage them you are bound to be eating fat Lay's wrinkle chips and dippin them babes in ketchup wondering where have all the good times gone.

Loveliest in the World
Andrew Tinkham Apr 2014
I write love to hear the V in my head.
And I love when I'm unwanting.
Unwanted I scowl and indulge for a while; too long then I say when's enough.
Take less; make room for my soul to grow inside.
Takes but two days then it's time to watch my pride.
Then I indulge anew, now for just long enough.
Things get so simple then, I can make the proper call.
Time then's an easy friend: God nods and simply says:
"You need to help someone, using courage son, be alert.
Hear are your ears back, hear the wrinkle, smooth it down.
When a good and proper Son, you become your reward.
Stay that way long enough I will send you your girl.
She will be very smart and the loveliest in the world.
But with every sweet reward you must become something more.
