Blue
The vein’s blood
The leg’s jeans
The pen’s ink
His eye’s shade
Deep
The ocean’s way
The night’s dark
The lung’s breath
My mind’s thoughts
Alone
The sky’s moon
The wind’s chill
The heart’s place
My bed’s side
Forgotten
The clock’s time
The lost lives
The leftover pain
The words never said.

You: the breath in my lungs
Can’t let go, hold you in
Must not exhale
Knowing you’re the last breath I took,
The last breath I will ever take
Makes the pain worth while.

Memories
Clear like the water I drink,
But not as pure.
Flow through my brain
My veins
My heart
My toes
Every inch of me remembers you.
Soaked on skin.
Chilled to bone.

Roses are red
Violets are blue.
I know this is cliche,
But I really do love you.

The oceans deep
The mountains high.
This distance is tough,
but all we can do is try.

The stars are bright
The water is clear
Everyday I wish
That you were here.

The word is out
The birds are free.
Please don’t change,
You’re perfect for me.

Doors are locked
Ropes are tied.
Come over and kiss me,
My arms; open wide.

Days go by
Seconds pass.
All we can do is hope
That our love will last.

A million questions asked.
The greatest answer to all:
Silence
Neither right nor wrong.

Her
I heard that she’s a runner
And plays the violin.
I can tell she has nice hair
And almost perfect skin.
I would think she’s quite smart
By the looks of where she is.
I’m jealous of her hands
Because I know they hold his.
I see she has brown eyes
Though mine are blue.
I’d say we have nothing in common,
But that’s not true.
We both belonged to him
At some point in time.
I’m past, she’s present
I’ll admit he’s no longer mine.

Time goes by so quickly
You blink,
The moment’s gone
Constantly moving on a high speed carousel
Around and Around
Eventually it all becomes a blur
Streaks of color, nothing more
