Alyssa O Nov 2012
Bright, cheerful, optimistic
The very picture of idealistic
Very short synonym poem...
Alyssa O Nov 2012
Out of sight
Are the unfairly treated
The ones excluded
That feel defeated

They have little freedom
In a country that's free
Though dark-skinned, they're human
Like you and me

But even clever
Nice and kind
They are shunned
Out of sight, out of mind
This is a poem I wrote for school about the civil rights movement
Alyssa O Nov 2012
When dreams
Are set free
To be lost
Among the world's
Forgotten hopes

When dreams
Are given up
And shoved from the mind
Destined to wander aimlessly
Through the barren field
Of a life
Without dreams

That day
The day when
Hopes and dreams
Are gone
That is the day
We must all fear
Alyssa O Nov 2012
The light grows brighter
As I dream
Desolate
Alone

The light grows brighter
As I listen
Disbelieving
Hopeful

The light grows brighter
As I watch
Eager
Excited

The light grows brighter
As I think to myself
Finally
Free

Time goes by
Days drift away
Moments pass on
Though we wish them to stay
Alyssa O Nov 2012
She stands, a dream
From out the days gone by
A mystery, a shadow
That never dies

In the depths of my mind
She does hide
Intiguing and deadly
A beautiful lie
