Enkindling the Wreckage
Allison Owens May 2010
I'm burning the memories,
The untouchable keepsakes,
I've kept locked inside so long.

Immolating:
The way your breath would play on my neck,
And the number of freckles on your shoulder.

I'll laugh as the fire consumes:
Feeling your arms around me for the last time,
The look in your eyes,
When we finally admitted it was over.

I'm laughing now!
The flames licking higher,
With each indelible dream.

Thrown in:
Your smile,
Your walk,
The me you swore you'd love,
Every time you said forever.

And I'm laughing.
Laughter!
Laughter!
Laughter...

Extirpation
Allison Owens Mar 2010
Deleting divinity,
One question at a time.
I'm too tired of hiding,
Behind your pretense and lies.
Mysticism is blind.
I think it's time,
I opened my eyes.

Better Living
Allison Owens Mar 2010
This moment brings nothing,
But a reminder to breathe.
While I lay here and wait,
The days seem to blend into one,
And this is the only time,
I feel alive.
This burning expectation,
Waiting to fulfill.

The Need
Allison Owens Mar 2010
A sudden addiction,
No denial needed.
Endlessly sending,
In this fractal mind.
I need this too much,
This searing love
Etched across my thighs.

The Back of Your Head
Allison Owens Mar 2010
Lying in the dark
And I'm still missing you

Remember the last time
We felt each other.
You
Held me so close,
Whispering that you needed my love.
*** soaked nights
Our arms around each other
Legs entangled.

But look how you've moved on.
God
You'

moved
on.

Breathlessly
How close
Do you hold her,
Whispering that you need her love ?
Are your arms around each other?

And  one day
You’ll move on.

Half Remembered
Allison Owens Mar 2010
He had a hole in his jeans.

I remember, fidgeting with it nervously the whole evening.
Hole, whole.
I can’t even remember his name.
(Now you know that’s a lie. His name escapes you no more than you escape yourself.)

Driving somewhere, someone’s house. Board games that make no sense.

Kisses you can’t escape. And then we slept, I on the couch and he on a camp bed.

Lost my socks, sometime in the night, lustful and half asleep. Don’t remember what we did, though he swears we didn't. I don’t know, I was asleep.

He drove me home the next day, and I fidgeted with the hole in his jeans.
(They weren’t jeans they were some sort of corduroy.)

Never did find my socks.

Castle in the Clouds

Dust and Light.
No guess,
Is it Dawn or Dusk?
Here, nestled in our own world,
Wrapped together,
Let's pretend,
It lasts forever.

Waltz of Insecurity
Allison Owens Mar 2010
Restless again,
But there's no movement.
Try as I might,
I can't sleep here.
Pick up and go,
But I've got no direction.
Shake, shiver, Stop.
Might as well give up.

Awakening
Allison Owens Mar 2010
Balancing.
Dancing on this edge,
I've never felt anything before,
This moment, This breath,
Nothing can exist beyond your arms.
My Heaven.
My Angel.

Singular
Allison Owens Mar 2010
Eyes locked
Closer by just a fraction
And the heat
Between our lips
Could (does) burn the world away
Only one moment
To sustain eternity
Just one kiss
To keep for life

Between Here and There
Allison Owens Mar 2010
Tongue to tongue
Hip to hip
Heaven is momentary
Compared to this

Flesh to flesh
Sin to sin
Together
We ascend

Writhing, moaning
Fingernails carve
Passion's tale

If this is the cost of Hell
May I be forever ******

Honey in My Mouth
Allison Owens Mar 2010
I can never say no
To your crooked smile
Your crooked words

Even when I want to
Forget you
The images
Swirl
Unbidden

Purity through pleasure
And your eyes glow
With the fires
As you drag me down
To Sin and Sin again

And you know
I’ll never say
No
To that crooked smile
Those crooked words
Sweet against my lips.

Toxicate
Allison Owens Mar 2010
A flash,
a flicker,
Writhing on the floor
Can still taste
the salt, the sweat.

Blinding, flaring
Tap, Tap
Ashes everywhere.

Then your head
Hits the wall

and God
it feels
G.OO.D...

drifting off beside you.

Greatness enthralls,
This merely obsesses.
In dark night's embrace,
You've become my all,
My shining satellite.
Twisting and turning,
I drink You deeper still.
Blinking and burning,
I'll never get my fill.

Bliss
Allison Owens Mar 2010
A brief flash in the night,
Show me the world,
and God,
I missed it.
But this night is heaven,
Parked in the grave,
Beloved dead cavort,
With stars.
And the windows aren't all that clear.
Your breath,
Is fire all around
Words revered in moonlight
Touch is pure Wonder
This night was heaven
And God
I miss it

Love settles like snowflakes
Drifting and falling
In dizzying bliss
Just one kiss to keep me
Until the spinning stops
Just one last glance
To keep me till the rains return
Falling in beat
With the rhythm of joy

Warmth
Allison Owens Mar 2010
This private language,
Exhalations and sighs,
Spoken through space.
This verbal dance.
A drifting ,
Dreaming,
Deliciously deliberate,
Exclamation without words.
And one day,
It'll be enough,
Just to say I love you,
Basking in the warmth of your eyes.

Less Than Three
Allison Owens Mar 2010
Days fading in wonder,
Holding my breath,
And holding your name,
It's the closest caress.
This delicious intent,
A hopeful surrender,
To words and worlds,
Not owned in self

At The End
Allison Owens Mar 2010
I remember the sunlight through the trees,
And the days never fitting quite right.
These moments in madness,
And we're spiralling ever upward.
From the first,
To dizzying heights;
Soft spoken amongst the clouds,
Drifting course less on these images.
So, yes,
I remember the sunlight through the trees;
And days fitting perfectly in your arms.

Allison Owens Mar 2010
Exultations decreed,
A mind filled to bursting,
In this infinite end.
Still reeling and turning,
In this delicious insanity you inspire.
A world,
Wide eyed,
And always improved.
Brief wonder held,
This softly shimmering soul,
A curious joy,
The exultations decreed,
A mind view panorama,
Of an infinite delight.
