Golden flecks danced on the lake,
Your eyes casting prisms unfeigned.
But even a Midas touch cannot mend,
Green leaf of youth could not be contained.

The rippling water looked so enticing,
Ice prisms reflecting on my skin.
I should have realized it was frozen, but you took my Hand and pulled me in.

Hope as shattered as the barren landscape,
Looking out at the shards I wondered
Why we find destruction so lovely.
Even a perfect Man not left undisturbed.

Through the ages we have ruined for pleasure,
Families, countries- broken.
It's in our nature to batter
What beauty we have been given.

Only one can heal the pain,
The glue to put this puzzle back together.
One day we'll see no pain,
The antidote washing away demise forever.

He broke into pieces
so that our lives may fall into place.
Each of us holds a part of His perfect being.
Yet, He remains whole; ever watching, everseeing
us break His heart
with our nature to thwart
this wonderful world we've been given.
He allows us to be living.
I stand awestruck at His unconditional love,
surely there's good if Someone could purify someone as wretched as me; my slate as blank as a white dove.
He broke into pieces
so that our lives may fall into place.

I'm not sure how to say it,
Maybe I shouldn't,
I mustn't,
I couldn't,
It's completely out of context,
An inappropriate concept,
Let's just talk about your life instead of mine,
Great, I'm happy everything between you two's been fine,
Nope, I haven't found anybody else new,
I mean the only person I really think about is you,
I mean,
Yes,
Yes,
Yes,
Yes, it's true,
I'm still very much in love with you.

When you love someone you kiss them,
And it feels nice,
And you want to do it again for the rest of your life,
And you do it ever so softly and gently,
All you hear is the breathing between you both,
You get this wonderful feeling called butterflies,
And you feel like you're on this wonderful roller coaster,
At the same time you feel as though you are surrounded by thousands of flowers on a warm day,
You feel relieved every time you kiss this one person,
And their kiss is absolutely amazing,
And maybe it's all you want to talk about afterwards because you're just so in love,
Maybe you just want a little more,
Or a little more than that,
And you do it again and you both are really happy,
It's this feeling of bliss you receive and it's unexplainable,
Like a rainbow after a storm,
Or a smile from God,
This is called innocent love,
This is called special love,
So please preserve it,
Take good care of it.

Okay class let's settle down
We need to come to order
We are here to learn to love ourselves
Before we can love another

I know a lot of you hate your lives
And struggle with that fact
I'm sure each and everyone of you
Will benefit from this class

Now if you'll hold in front of you
This mirror just like me
So many of you in this class
Have never liked what the mirror sees

But you need to look deeper into it
And repeat the words I say
My outside it is just a shell
Deep within is where my beauty lays

The mirror sees there is not a one
That is as unique as you
God made you the way you are
You need to come into that truth

So listen very closely now
To these words I have to say
There's a beauty that shines within you
So put that beauty on display

The next time you hear your worthless
From the ones with whom you've grown
The ones that are the first to tell you that
Have issues all their own

Let's all take our mirrors now
And put them on the shelf
Now lift your hands up to the sky
And all shout, I am something else!

Hopefully I'll see you all next fall
In the class we're starting new
How I Learned To Love Myself
And So Can You 102

soul in torment
I'd love to practice cpr
upon your wet
and
willing lips
my hands pressed firmly
upon your
unrisen
perfect breast
your eyes closed
your neck
tilted
flesh exposed
as I straddle your body
bringing back
to life
what has lain
dormant
until my touch
the gentle caressing
of both
my fingers
and
my lips
on flesh that has ached
to be known
and loved
not merely looked upon
and
desired.

The moment I laid eyes on you
I knew it was true love
You were sharing a root beer float with your friends
Down at the soda shop

I looked debonair in my Pompadour
You cute in your poodle skirt
I took out my comb to slick down the sides
As you smiled, giggled, and twirled

I asked if you'd like to go out
Just you and me on a date
I picked you up at seven o'clock
In my 56' Chevrolet

Your father gave me a stern look
Your mother a gleam in her eye
He asked where we were going
Why to church sir, I said with a smile

I took you to the drive in
Bobs Burgers and Late Night Shakes
Afterwards we both went dancing
At the Hop just down the street

You had my heart all in a flutter
As we slowed danced all night
It was then I knew for certain
That I would make you my lovely wife

I got you home way past your curfew
Your dads silhouette by the front door
You said I can't go back to that
I pressed the peddle to the floor

So here we are these many years later
Me as your husband you as my wife
With our grand kids playing about our feet
Thinking back to that fateful night
