Maybe if I stare at my phone long enough
It will read my thoughts and ring
Loud enough to wake a sleeping giant
His face glowing behind a barrior of glass
The call that haunts my dreams
Alice Layne Mar 2013
Have you ever been in love
In love so deeply
It hurts

Your heart and soul devoted
To that sweet whisper
And you smile

Together you move as one
Singing in grace and beauty
Clinging to innocence

But then he asks you to change
To be someone you're not
To take a risk

On the outside you agree
Smile and bite your lip
Peacefully lying

But on the inside you're a tornado
All hell breaking loose
Holding back the tears

So what do you say?
What can you say?
To please him

For if true love outlasts any obstacle
What am I supposed to do
If my obstacle is love
Alice Layne Jun 2012
The weak will cry, the strong cry harder
But no one will know
For the strong wait until darkness falls
And under the curtain of the night
They weep

They weep for the loss of their one true love
They weep for the fear of eternal loneliness
For they worry, if I am not good enough for him
Will I ever be good enough?

For broken hearts are broken dreams
And without our dreams, we would have no life
