The Wilderness
The vast trees tower above
All looking down
The bird sing and fly
The animals scamper through

The fish swim about
Down river into the pond
All to see
The fishes nemesis
The king of the forest

The mighty bear
Not far over a moose
Towers above
Above all this a eagle sores

Then a roar
Everything quiet except for
A diesel truck storms through
To call the wilderness

Spanning across the ragged paper in a glorious fashion,
Sharp edges against the greasy fingertips of past men,
Ink hardened by ages of use and light,
Crinkled by the square folds made long ago.

Made to accommodate a pocket or bag,
Held for quick use, if an opportunity were to arise,
Use of finding somewhere new, somewhere unbeknownst,
If only to add to what has already been found.

A map so weathered by age,
Dust manifested like a parasite, in each broken corner,
Signs of misuse so brightly uncovered, a stain, a burn,
A bird dropping, a cut from a knife, all from a different place, each on it, in ink.

It has seen many a place, sea and land alike,
Jungle and plains, mountain and desert, evidently seen without it's glorious sheen,
Ink never buckled under the conditions, crisp and clean.
Overbearing was it's missions it could not fail.

Created to mark and record, it lays easy when one is done,
On to the next one, somber not a chance, gleams of more in its compass eye,
Years would pass until another was drawn, by another hand or same,
No difference was it too the map, it's owner a scoundrel or knight.

The map never batted a lash, winced in pain,
When the quills whipped and lashed,
For it was the comfort in knowing, that for its suffering it was providing,
Providing a map, a map for which all could use.

A map that sailed the seas, crossed the deserts,
Traversed the white mountains, blazed through the jungles,
A map that would be copied and shared, a thing from which knowledge would stem,
Ideas would flourish, inventions would be invented, all because of one single Map.

Tattoo on my heart
That's permanent forever
Can't take it away
But stays and kills me

You broke my heart
I would never forget you
Especially what you said  to me
Made my heart have a deep hatred

Wishing it didn't happen to me
Thinking why I fell in your trap
Waiting for a sign that it wasn't ment to be
But nothing comes so I loose my breathe

I stop breathing focusing on why
Why would you do this to me
A moment after I fell to my feat
Thinking a last time why my heart

Not black or white
but something in between

Not happy or sad
a neutral human being

Not light or dark
a neutral day and time

Not rich or poor
but I have my money fine

Not one side or the other
I'm just the middle man

Not a diamond in the rough
just another grain of sand

Art
They say the spots
tell the story
they say the blots
tell of glory

They call it abstract
and try to impart,
although I retract,
this is art

I look at all the strokes
so frequently seen
that make me choke
when asked what they mean
Albero Centrale Apr 2014
All they say,
Is that I’m useless,
Nothing more,
Than another grain of sand in the bucket.

Beaten and tortured,
By my own mind,
Ripping and clawing at the chains that bind me,
Tracing every scar.

I know I've had it rough,
There’s people who've just had it so much worse,
Unable to break the bonds,
That their own heads created.

I know that I’m stronger,
Even sometimes I feel I might not break through,
I just have to keep reminding myself that,
“This is not what it is,
Only baby scars."

I know what you told me,
That life gets better,
It always gets better,
Because it can never,
Put me through more than,
I could handle,
“This time I'll make you,
Proud to see me over,
Come on daylight.”
Whisk me away form this terrible nightmare.

As the struggle continues,
The future getting clearer,
Each and every day,
“I believe it's time for me to be famous,
And out of place.
I believe it's time for me to move forward,
When I break through.”
It’s all thanks to you.

Holding onto the smell of your t-shirt,
Remembering the life in your smile,
From this day on I swear I’ll remember,
The light in your eyes.

You swore you’d never leave,
Something foolish I chose to believe,
When the walls came crashing down,
Silently.

I knew all the mistakes we made,
Troubles faced,
But you kept my hopes up every day,
Moving forward.
Through tear streaked eyes,
Starry nights,
Painful goodbye’s,
And a sinking feeling,
You kept me going strong.

But I never knew,
This perfect life would end,
Unraveling,
Just like a thread.

My head keeps spinning.

And that one time,
You no longer love me,
I’ll say I’m fine,
Continuing on.

I knew all the mistakes we made,
Troubles faced,
But you kept my hopes up every day,
Moving forward.
Through tear streaked eyes,
Starry nights,
Painful goodbye’s,
And a sinking feeling,
You kept me going strong.

You were my summer love,
Come and gone,
Just like a sunrise,
You never knew,
The things I’d do,
To keep you from falling...

... When I already fell.

I knew all the mistakes we made,
Troubles faced,
But you kept my hopes up every day,
Moving forward.
Through tear streaked eyes,
Starry nights,
Painful goodbye’s,
And a sinking feeling,
You kept me going strong.

You kept me going strong,

But now my summer love has come and,
Gone...
