Aishani Laha Oct 2013
Lights, heat, celebration
Slowly mounting to a ******.
An isolated shred of genuine affection
Within the blurred congregation;
Love melting on the icing
With the candles pathetic wax.

What have they come here for??
Why do they even speak?
Their hollow smiles implore
Leave! Leave! Chaos, or
Ecstasy at its peak?

Another year, frowns veiled with a grimace;
Facades out. Nothing left to be said.
In a quiet corner space,
The  present of a butterfly embrace.
Coming of age for a spirit, already dead.

Pretences
Aishani Laha Sep 2013
For the wind blows,
And it tears her skin away.
And she shouts out all the words
That eat her alive,
From the windows.

And when the sun sets,
She paints her eyes
And frees her wings,
And flies.

And in between all that ceremony,
She sings in a broken voice.

To Solitude
Aishani Laha Sep 2013
Words as discordant,
As the influx of sounds around me...
Sitting beneath a silver foliage.
Watching the air quiver,
One wind at a time...
The anticipation of activity,
Its juvenile bid to attract.
The trees resound with hysteria!
The yellow clouds giving way to a suppressed grey...
The winds, they trample me and flee..
And like an unwelcome guest,
The unprovoked thought of you clouds my solitude.
The eternally gentle brow furrows...with...?
Oh woe!...it wasn't meant to be.

Petrichor
Aishani Laha Aug 2013
The world drowns in a grey abyss
The discordant revolution of a storm with the mind
Heaven knows we've left the calm behind
Senses in place, feelings amiss.

The eyes' downpour as it watches the clouds
A blanket of steel sheathing the sun
Weaving a lore with the winds rapid run
A thunderous voice rumbles, not too loud.

The sudden crescendo of a cloudy roar
Wings dislodged, vision askew, hearts aflutter,
The slashing rain, lashing against the shutter
The gentle, unnoticed, infinite petrichor.

Roses
Aishani Laha Jul 2013
Sweat drips from our bonded brow
With carnal rhythm rocks the prow
The decretive line between then and now
The delirious mirth and then we lie
On a bed of red roses..

Precociously we turn to apathy
Reliving yesterday still hopefully
Hearts departing, both infallibly could see
The reality of which neither could deny
On a bed of dead roses...

Reprieve
Aishani Laha Jun 2013
Eternal whispering in my ear,
Your laugh almost a song,
But fold you in my arms I will,
Every breath a brewing storm.

I heave with your heart,
Midway between ephemeral and divine,
Bound to me with my feeble hands,
Oh! To see your eyes in mine.

To feel your thoughts on my shoulders,
Heaven strewn with the fiery dregs of goodbye,
The euphoric envy we feel for it,
We recline with the sky.
For You
and June 24th.

Barge (10w)
Aishani Laha Jun 2013
A doubt a day.
Tears.
Don't worry...
              We'll make it.
A barge here means a raft. A raft keeping us afloat.

Crossroads (20w)
Aishani Laha Jun 2013
You call, You scream,
You profess, You laugh,
You run, You grasp, You fly...
And I wait.
I simply wait.
"You" I hold in reverence

The Tempest Within
Aishani Laha May 2013
The storm falls with me
My eyes are clouded
With rain my being is shrouded
Banking on Betrayal's camaraderie.

I'm living in my own delirious shell
Suffocating joy
Playing muse in my ploy
Surviving my self-established Hell.

Have I truly loved?
Do I not see the perdition I've raised?
Conundrum upon which I gazed
As wandering eyes have roved.

I had promised to stand tall
Through the gale-ridden days
An estranged promise of always
Only to break, to fall.

Across my brow, a singular stormy mark
Distantly, my lover's voice rings through
"What if the darkness is within you?"
"What if you are the dark?"

I saw the smile in your eyes,
And the sunshine love
Surged through me
Impassioned.
Rish.

Debility
Aishani Laha May 2013
If only I could find the strength
To dismember my thoughts,
If only I could shun the smell
Of the sweet forget-me-nots.

If only I could convince myself
That you were not the best
If only I could calm my mind
And get my heart to rest.

If only I could begin to stop
Wondering what you see
Wondering what you think about
When you look at me.

If only I could shred the love
That for years and years I bore
If only my war with you would end
For I can fight no more.

If only we were still in love
Said things before we dare
If only you would hold my hand
And told me you were there.

If only I could see someone
And see them as they are
And not think how closely they feel
Like you, nor how much far.

If only I could smile awhile
And make the gloom depart
If only, since I weep and weep
Could you mend my broken heart.

If only I was good enough
To leave behind the bad
If only I could tell apart
What is and what I had.

If only I were brave enough
To not believe your lie
If only I could close my eyes
And let your memory die.

Invocation
Aishani Laha May 2013
The firefly does love its light
Warm summer comes after winter's sigh,
If tears and hope can unite,
Why can't thee with I?

The majestic moon scorns not its stars
Celebrated is the marriage of verse with rhyme,
If skies can unite from afar,
Why not I with thine?

As the rain leaves the sky and falls down below
As the flower allows its lover bee,
As from black rock, the rivers flow,
Why can't thou seest me?

Jaded am I to feel thy shrug
Abecedarian the still world turns,
If the mountain can remember the feeble winds tug,
Why not my name, thy heart, learns?

Do I sound too beggarly?
Forgive me, I know no note,
To pen fair words for you to notice me,
But 'tis you, sweet Love, whome I shall quote.

Foolish love hath given man plenty mirth
Yet you say, "I can't be thine."
If Heaven's high soul can mesh with low earth,
Why not yours with mine?

The Going
Aishani Laha May 2013
Your arms were there to break my fall
Your answer came before my call
Stands between us now a towering wall
Strenghthened by you, and me, and all.

Our bond was one where none could tame
The love that burnt like a morbid flame
Cold winds, and gales they went and came
Smiling we played our seamless game

The carefree talk at the dead of night
The quick brief touch, the mindless flight
You'd said before, and now you're right
The flame was just a dying light.

As I feel us nearing the end
I quietly withdraw the love I lent
I bid you a calm farewell my friend
The broken soul, as I sit to mend.

The Languor After Love
Aishani Laha May 2013
At last I have felt it
Felt the heart's prolix fit.
Welcomed happiness unbound,
Seen around his head that beautous round.

Affection tugs at my heart
I wake with a start,
Remember the promises I am to keep,
Encumbrence lulls me to sleep.

Solus
Aishani Laha May 2013
Where do we stand? For whom do we wait?
Our unborn thoughts perhaps...
We've watched them walk by ,
Not sparing a frugal glance...
My love, aren't we getting late?

No one will have a hand to lend,
We've to build a world out of  morsels...
Stick by stick, soul by soul.
No one will say, "Love! You were right!"
Pull the thread, while the tear we mend...

Ignore the pretty colors my love,
We will thrive in black and white...
We will watch the sunset from the fringes of their lives..
We will remain out of sight.

We lie unclaimed in each other's graves,
Yet we seem to be so much more...
The universe is made of me and you...
We shine brighter than the flashing windows...
Only for each other's eye
For my best friend..and the love of her life :)
