Trees Of Sand
Aditya Roy Nov 2018
In climbing trees of apple
At said heights
Save yourself
Inscribing scriptures
Essence of reason
Innocence is an old picture
But, the apple has turned
Into sand, filling an hourglass
Losing time

Immobile
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I am glistening
With pride
You won't see me
Maybe the clouds hate me
If I am blue near the skies
The Sun will come out soon
The heat on your shoulders
Will make it easier for you
At the end of suns and moons
You will always have me
A distant lonely star will touch you
The gas implodes when it can't feel love
If you're fed up with me
Remember my star died a billion years ago
So, you are looking at an afterimage of me
If you believe the spirit resides in the starry night
You have been led astray
I left you for the moving planets
Where immobile as I may be
I am never disappointed in me
That is why as I star I will provoke hydrogen's bombs
You may find planet Earth to be a hydrogen jukebox
Soon you will heal him
As I turn into helium
As you forget me

Aditya Roy Apr 2020
If you could
Rid the world of greed
Would you make riches
Of the new world
If you could walk free
Rid the world of chains
Would you put people in chains
In the new world
If you could bring homes
Rid the country of homeless
Would you put people behind bars
In the old order
We are trying to break free
From the confines of words
Because we are poets
And if we have words
We wouldn't steal them
Because we are writers
Not politicians

On turning of the world
Aditya Roy Apr 2020
Why do we cloud our eyes
As we break each plank of the wooden floor
After all the pain and lies
We nurture each other as we try
We sleep together on a bed of nails
This isn't how far we should've gone
Our Earth is burning bright
Sometimes it gets so toxic
It cannot breathe or wail
It's a lot like sleeping on a bed of nails

Empty Child
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I hate the situation
I hate spoken verse
And the unspoken words
Between us fools
Looking through hearts
The moon stands perfect
On this pale ice
Strumming a guitar
Produces a line of lurid
Effeminate rhyme
Just to pass the time
To go where I want to die
Just to feel alive in
Your arms where filled posh sofas carry
The cushion and comfort
The texture of a million rainy clouds
I can cry if I wish
For an evening in your apartment
Enough for rain
It will come again
I can cry if breath soon
Underwater among the promises loses meaning
Of being released for never have commited no crime
Having my life taken to freezing Siberia
Forever is a long time
For a prisoner of love
For a prisoner of war
Where everything is fairer
Than my mistress's judgement
Who lets me in to play a valiant song
As I stride through the city streets
I rise on the arches of Paris
Dreary Seine says goodbye once love lost
It was better to have loved than lost
This is the way it ought to stay
Instead of my head turned in like a signpost
Where they hang the scars of the past
Bodies, bodies, bodies
Do you know what is nothing
Have you known love
Beyond the loss of life
Pray that you lose everything
Before God showers you with everything
Leaving only, but, emptiness in life

Aditya Roy Mar 2020
Let us heal
Convalesce
Forget our sorrows
And hide tomorrow

Let us merge
Instead of uniting
As foreign souls
And hide tomorrow

Let us strike fear
Instead of scarring each other
And vanquish hatred
And hide tomorrow

Let us be kind
Instead of unfeeling
And feel love for others
And hide tomorrow

Let us bury our loved ones
Instead of their memories
And listen to our heart
And hide yesterday's regrets
No more hiding for us

The Role Of Freedom
Aditya Roy Jul 2020
The more I look around
I see people involved
In their lives, with another lover

Writing short poems and expressing
Deeper thoughts, only to fit in
With the masses

Maybe, this poem is too patterned
To my taste, but, that is how I feel
Why cannot a rose be a rose?

Shipwreck
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
You talk too much
You tie your shoes wrong
You love the wrong woman
And live in the wrong country
You like flowers
And don't have girlfriends
***** tonky women crawl anyway
If you want someone's love
You cry for mummy
Dad takes you to school
Can you ever be enough To get me in my birthday suit
**** me off
Turn me on and shut off the music
Fill me up
Live it up and keep calm
Keep calm or just keep dreaming
If you want my love
Your dreamy eyes won't work
Your dreamy biceps
Your dreamy grin
Won't work on me
Did you do it to look to nice on TV
Or take me for a nice weekend
Stop dressing like that
And start flirting and stop drinking
Maybe, mix some gin and tonic
Maybe be grotesque, but, don't be a sensation
Pretty asinine boy
Your mood swings
Will leave me in a stupor
Be yourself
You are a super trooper
Just invade my ship for ****'s sake
I wanna be with you
Yes, that's true
I'm a shipwreck without you

Stranger Things
Aditya Roy May 2020
I dislike strangers
Sheltered from the truth
I cannot relate to someone who has never traded places
I feel like dying inside
Do you

If I have stranger things
In my attic
Don't ask me tell you why
Instead you shall dwell
On the road to hell
You belong to

Don't break my wall
If you can't take a brick
To your foot, as you crawl
Over the fences
That surround you

If you cannot tell me poetry
Makes you feel naked
Then, don't judge me
Instead, take my place
I don't deserve it
I really am serious to those people who judge me relentlessly. You can condone doing drugs, but, not other vices. Shame on you

Like moonlight walked in during the dawn

When you run away from me
Time slows down for three seconds
It takes a second to take my breath from me

You may adorn the sunshine
I have seen the moonlight in your eyes
When you knocked my head out and left me stargazing at night

At twilight,
I will send you a letter
To ask for your answer at twilight

You heal a little too quick

Let it start from when the Titanic sank
I remembered how you bellowed in agony
I remember
I remember
In the end, you wanted my money
We always told each other

When the fire burnt out
You wanted my coke
Bit by bit you wanted soap
When you became petrol king

There is a flower of desire
In his eyes of fire, that flickers like a candle
There is oak on the mantle

There is a crispness to his voice
That rings like that burning furnace
Amidst a rattling of dry leaves dying of thirst

And yearns for the yellow sun
There is a fire in his eyes
It is lit by emotion in his heavy heart

I am a rock
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I am the rock
That will stop
From rolling into the sea
As the sea gathers moss
Turns emerald green
Like eyes of an exotic cat
Or the leaves of the African jungle
Will hold me in the palm of God
I am the rock that will
Not roll into the sea
Because I am different
Since, I am result
Of coincidence
Resilience and patience
I have everything
That a rock has
Except for a good shore
Which lets me be
Instead of carrying me away
I don't mind the sea
I don't mind the moon
Or the horizon
I don't mind tourists
I just have fallen out of love
With lovers and nostalgia
I just don't want to land up in a hotel
Where they tap the phones
To hear in on the calls of lovers
And congressmen will certainly
Want a beautiful stone like me
For their mantle
However, I am not free
Like a dreamer
Whom you can throw by just
Picking on them
I write the news
And someday I will be the front page headlines
That says,"A rock in the congressman's shoe."
I can really shake things up, without moving
Of course

My days' regards
The herbal tea sat
On the letter next to me
Decided I'd go for a stroll
In the cathedral, perchance
God and his son looking for the night
In downtown New York
My poetess friends brush up
On their English
As day touches night
And as evening dulls down
On the well remembered gaiety of memory
The autumn break with it's ruby scenery
Sitting next to the fire, I never felt colder
Those were the days when children were innocent
And now I'm the rank outsider

Simply sleeping
Despite our betters telling us
To be stronger than the rest
Spending all of our love on weeping in the evening

Despite our friends trusting us
To be stronger in our moments of unrest
Simply sleeping
Take a pillow, now rest under the pale moonlight

Watered and Withered
Aditya Roy Apr 2020
As I write this
I peel an orange
Now in poetry
Every Tom, **** and Harry knows
You cannot rhyme with this citrus delight
Thus I find myself lacking words
And how to arrange them
To rhyme with orange
So in such cases of crisis
I turn to imagination
Let my thoughts genuflect
At the possibilities of rhyme and verse
Weighing beauty and technicality
I realize I can be deranged enough
To rhyme anything with orange
Unless you want sporangium
But what is romantic about spores and oranges
If you want to be critical
We should talk of robust flowers and The Doors
Rhyme should be written off the hinges
Thought should be expressed free like a horse cart
And romantic as a moonlight caravan
Probably as well watered as a flower ***
Or sometimes withering away like the fire of desire

The Song of the forest
Aditya Roy May 2020
Sages speak wise words
They flow like a breath
Though my veins, unstirred
As the years go by in a death
My heart grows and I look for answers
I still ask myself where do I tread

This page of lyric speaks to me
It has passed through my doubts
Resounding through echoes of thee
It is more sterner than my mouth
Bit by bit, it guides me amidst the trees
My pen knows not what it has found

After my dance with death's spirit
My beautiful poem cries and wails
I yearn for an end not merit
This is my song and picture, not a tale
The paths show some light and the forest splits
The rest of the poem disappears in the hail

I may have forgotten the lines
If you shower me with praise
The song of the forests dissipates with time
Yet, I remember the road and its precarious ways
Knowing this I know the answers will rhyme
As I find a maze of questions, once again
Inspired by some people.
"Your very flesh shall be a great poem."
