Eli gor Dec 2020
deep, deep, into the vast blue ocean,
sinking, screaming silently, wishing to be saved, but not to be heard.
the familiar deepness, her new home.

she senses hands, reaching to help pull her out
but refuses.
she stupidly refuses, in confusion as to why.

she knows for others, their ocean is deeper.
their shore, miles away.
so she sinks deeper into the darkness of the ocean, so deep she cannot see the light above

so she deems the ocean her new rental, her new friend.
   she distracts herself with the fish, coral, and sand;
hoping that one day, she will find herself on land.

she wonders if she is wrongful,
     seemingly letting herself drown.
but she lets the littered plastic on the top of the ocean drift above her head.
for if she lets them sink, it will feel all too real

is refuge really that easy?
Can you figure out a hidden meaning?
