THE BEAUTY OF A FLOWER
I can touch the petals' tissue
which is soft and lures my fingers
deeper than the surface to go
as l expect something softer.

They reveal a lovely colour
which can touch my loving pupils.
It arouses eager eyesight
to see more of what is inner.

Then the smell comes to distract me
moving me from top to bottom.
What is hidden underneath them
must convince me to go deeper.

When the petals fell, l hurried
to encouter what was pleasant,
but l saw what made me cower
as the beauty was the cover.

HOW CAN WE?
How can we deprive him of our love
and cause him a deep wound in his heart?
How can we feel the joy of being close
while he is thrown away, an outcast?

How can we see his eyes begging us
through his wrath that tells us his great loss?
He cannot kiss our hands to be near
though his heart is so keen to do so.

How can we enjoy love while some men
look with eyes trying hard to hide tears?
Don't we feel for those whose hearts beat fast
begging us to let them share our joy?

HAPPINESS THROUGH LOVE
For me, love cannot be thinking of self
but of the other person and her boon.
When l love my sweet girl, l will wish her
an endless pleasure which cannot be gone.

What is the drive that takes you to her bed?
If it's your pleasure, you are poor yourself
as pleasure will remain just for a wink
and then nostalgia will bring you sharp pain.

When love is your impulse, you think of her
as she will be all what you want from life.
You think of how your mating can affect
the person that your love wants to protect.

I don't feel you, true love, for my own self
but for the person whom l give my life.
If she's my life and love, l can't leave her
and this is what makes me have her a wife.

BRAVE THOUGH WEAK
When l see a weak man say what he believes,
I admire his strong will and trust in self.
He displays how man can be so brave though frail
and you love his being bold although too weak.

Christ could say the complete truth to dreadful foes,
and He knew that what He said would lead to death.
I surmise that He is Christ and can do all,
but l see the Christ in lots of His dear men.

Who can taste the sublime truth and then return
to accept what secure life can always give?
Man who knows how Jesus felt can never be
mean again to avoid fear or instant death.

INNER LIFE, PEACE AND TRUST
No one would like to be that man
who at his old age he would say,
"If l could repeat my past life,
I would behave in different way."

Each man has skills, which are strong points
that if he's reared and applied well,
they will lead him to reconcile
his inner life with supreme joy.

He'll have a tranquil mind that says
it is so happy with his deeds.
They've given him the great results
that he'd repeat if he came back.

He feels so glad and quite at peace
and nothing can his great joy cease.
His mind has given him the best
that fills his heart with love and trust.

WiLL I JOIN HANDS WITH SIMEON?
I thought of faith and Jesus Christ
and toiled to reach a sublime state.
That state for me is supreme joy.
When l see Jesus, l attain.

I met a priest so dear to me
and talked about my joy and faith.
He said when Jesus was a babe,
His parents took Him to the shrine.

When Simeon held the glorious Child,
He looked at Him and thanked the Lord.
He said,"My God, You have fulfilled
Your promise of my jubilee."

Then Simeon was so pleased and charmed
as he saw Christ before his death.
I wonder if my joy of faith
will let me feel what Simeon did.

TOO PRECIOUS TO BE LOST
What has occurred to those who follow You?
They're at a complete loss in their hard world.
We look at those who live where the sun sets.
They are enchanted by science and wealth.

We look at where you wanted to be born.
They have got very few, too weak to speak.
Their number can be counted on one hand
and they are leaving their homes and their land.

When l look at your book and how You lived,
I find You loved all men and died for them.
The love You taught us and led to Your cross
is mixed in our heads with puzzled thoughts.

Your love was like a jewel Your hands cut.
You'd made it from the earth and changed to rock.
I fear this matchless jewel will be lost
as it's so rare that nothing can compare.
