Waiting for it to take off,
your ticket held fast and tight.

butterflies all bright and scattered,
flutter for feels.

storms in the sand--
with words to say--
some waves crash--
a depth deeper in my veins.

Like little sailors,
guided by skipping stars
across inviting eyes,
flickering like the full moon on fast forward through its phases.

cool caress--
morning mist--
fields of flowers all fogged up clear as day

Old films long forgotten--
stored away--

You're color in my black and white frames.

skin flushed--
lips lush--
gray's gone--
there's such--
a motion in me I recall the difference,

alive alone--no.
alive again.

Petals loosen up the light,
melt into and match the glow--
flickering like--Monet.

You're one wild garden.
One beautiful bouquet.
I feel your tenderness underneath my bare feet;
see my face as a reflection
of a flame, in your eyes.
One thousand teardrops
fell from your heart,
love swallowed each one.
Tasting comfort inside a smile,
a heart grows fond of drinking
love’s replies.

Your words fall as leaves
into the river of my heart‘s desire,
come to life
as I exhale them as poetry.
Each breath I take
rises against another,
creating feelings inside my heart,
ringing in tones that listen to each thought;
bringing such a lovely peace
to me.

I am embraced by breezes
stirred from a lasting love
that has grown strong like an oak tree,
it bends but never breaks.
Love now sails as notes
pouring from my lips.
My heart leaps with joy
and sings replies perhaps unheard,
but felt with each breath
I take.

Feed the lion.
She is the law of the light
and the love of the lamb.

Teeth tear open wounds
ripping skin like rags;
flesh for the feast,
an altar for the beast.

She looks at her prey.
Her eyes pierce the heart.
Her body's of a lover.
Her breast are of a mother.

She swallows the sin of it's soul.
She eats the salts in it's sweat.
and let's the blood wrap around lips
dripping crimson on the sands.

Just as I hear the music that plays from within
As soft as a distant whisper or breath
Your touch has been memorized upon my skin
Like a kiss lost upon the wind.

A duet of our souls colliding
That forms its very own tempo
Hitting all the rhythms and beats
On the scale from adagio to allegro

Coaxing forth the sweetest of melodies
My maestro skillfully playing my every part
Drawing his bow against the tightly wound strings
To the hidden notes of his music written within my heart

Harmonizing in our own lover's chorus
Our bodies singing to a crescendo building
Moans and sighs become the music before us
Then collapse exhausted, the performance ending

A serenade to all who wish to listen to our song
Faces without names, lost among the throngs
And just like the music restored my hope
My maestro saved me when he came along

Such is the music that has cleansed my soul
Reminding me of all that I so adore
And having been once again made whole
I can only hope that he grants me an encore
"I have come up with the theory that the music is within. We do not bring it in...its already there we have to figure out how to get it out"~ Howard Roberts Jazz guitar

Hands

Hands of a new mother gently washing baby's little parts
A little hand clasps around her thumb and touches moms heart
An unconditional love that continues to grow at first glance
Brings new meaning to life makes you want to take a chance

Hands of a Lovers first melting touch
Not being able to breathe when it gets to be too much
Butterflies in the stomach and throwing all caution to the wind
Two innocent souls lost in the present and trying not to sin

Hands of a fighter who helped liberate our lands
Bringing countries together and starting a contraband
Hands of the men who were young and oh so brave
Friends and comrades who lost their lives and wound up in a grave

Hands of a writer, a painter, or jack of all trades
Blue collar living but these hands still need to get paid
Calloused strong hands and a hard working class
Got obligations and bills to try and outlast

Hands of a beautiful woman on her day wearing white
Ring on her finger from the love of her life
Hands that promise to love and cherish through all the years
Comfort those worries and help face all your fears

Hands weathered and touched by father time
No longer seeing your lovers hand...your partner in crime
True love that has gone to a much better place
But the hands remain tied and forever laced
The spinning of the Earth is never interrupted
for anyone.
Although, faces of men whisper of experience
between ideas that come undone.

Deep questions slide into all we know to be,
step right in.
Yet, we do not hesitate to look away,
when their hours begin.

Looking back at the summer of our lives,
were we supposed to hold hands?
Perhaps we never tried, or merely gave up
in the end.

Just another minute or two tries not too smile
when reading what’s been said.
We wait for justice, and then roll over
playing dead.

Settling in, we do not mention lessons
learned from each moment.
Is this not a step towards
what lies underneath our torment?

Are we running out of time and a foot behind,
because we do not care?
Do we only commit to that which comforts
our own air?

Sometimes I doubt if we closed our eyes for a second
we would see the entire picture,
perhaps because, we refuse to see ourselves
as we are,
Imperfect Creatures.

If I could just go back in time
where sweet smiles are revealing our face
where laughter and sweet moments are surrounding the entire space
where nobody but our silhouettes walking across the road of existence.

If I could just rewind and start over again
where I'm free to hold your hand
where I'm free to wrap my arms around you
where we can count years together

I could've made those times perfect
I should have made the best I could to make the smile last
With curious feet the night enters with beauty
in her eager eyes.
Love speaks to the ocean of hearts, she has touched
as the moon glides by quietly
before the eyes of men.
I can see your face held by the fingers
Of my hope, once again

In the eyes of peaceful angels with shining hair
of molten gold
I see those shores of all great happiness and joy
Held by a loyal hand,
proclaiming there is love
such a sweet delight rains down
To my heart, from above

I stand here within the comfort
of my silken thoughts of you,
while unmatchable tenderness appears in place
Speaks to me of memories
I can always find.
While breathing in night's sheer beauty
with my own heart in kind

I see your face, if only for a moment,
as the other half of me
As I lay here watching night enter
with curious feet.
Love sweetly touches my heart in a rush
tells me to close my tired eyes
"Sleep, dear one, shush"
