The waves come washing in
The wave go washing out
Like so many times before

Footprints and seashells in the sand
You can see near and far, like so many times before
The waves come washing in and out, like so many times before

The sunset rises up out of the water
People gather on shore, like so many times before
The waves come washing in and out, like so many times before

The waves come washing in
The waves go washing out
Like so many times before

Just a few words
A few scribbled lines
I try to describe what's playing in my mind.

I love beautiful sunrises and hearing the ocean waves roll in
The noon time sunlight dancing on the water or hearing the wind
Walking along the beach looking for sea shells or fishing off the  pier
I take it all in; then let my mind say what it feels

Off on my morning stroll to Pride Park I go
A squirrel dashes from the path, up the tree and out a branch
It leaps and flies unto another tree
The trail has just started what else lies ahead for me

The smell of honeysuckle fills the air
The birds and the crows are all I hear
A little further, a turtle sits in the middle of the trail
Holding its head high, proud to be there

My best friend Duke and I snake around this wooded trail
We take in the sights and the smells in the air
We walk along waiting for the sun to rise
Then arising between the trees, a new beginning right before our eyes

Today is another day
It is a day to dream
You can do anything
Just Believe

The sun rises up over the Kentucky hills
The horses in the pasture are slowly strolling around
But today is different
Today is the Kentucky Derby

The quietness of the morning will soon turn to excitement
The pageantry will unfold; the hats, the costumes
The mint juleps and the red roses
The sounding of the trumpets
And the singing of My Old Kentucky Home

Many know nothing about horse racing
The Kentucky Derby horses; they can maybe name a few
We’re proud people in Kentucky; the Kentucky Derby is ours
Come on down to Louisville it’s the Run for the Roses
With open arms we will welcome you

I close my eyes and drift away
I see sunshine and a blue sky a beautiful day
In my world I have a smile on my face
I see love and children at play

Would you like to join me and drift away
Come along and find your happy place
Close your eyes and drift away
When you open them everything will be ok

Close your eyes and drift away
Together we can find our happy place

I'm going to capture the Christmas Spirit in a bottle
And keep it for a year
When I find someone who is down on their luck
I will pour them a cup
Remind them that the Savior is always there
No disrespect to anybody but believing works for me. Merry Christmas!
