Culture carrot-where im from
Ian Stern Apr 2013
I am from inconsistency,
forced adjustment,
eternally molding in a feeble attempt to appease my demanding environment.

I am from the loophole of the universe with no purpose,
few absolutes,
and a limited amount of time.

From laugh tracks,
reminding me when to laugh,
and for how long.

From the boredom at the bottom,
I've been Thriving in the *** trough,
endlessly scrounging for solutions and temporary entertainment.

From redundant ideas and places,
stale bread,
flat coke,
familiar situations and words.

Wane wants
To wax

We strain to
Relax

We crave what
We lack

As pain learns
To laugh

Wait
Watch
A gain
In a loss

An outlet
For hatred
Rechannel
Displace it

Weakness wields a weapon

Pressure point
Ian Stern Apr 2013
It hit the pressure point,
**** shocked electric joints,
Finger flounder, a  weapon,
Cold recoiling aggression.

Regretful revenge,
Hmm, still not really cleansed.
The concentrated intents
Odd refractions been bent.

Prehistoric rhetoric
Preserved in hydrochloric

Finally exhumed
It was always presumed dormant

The question wants no  answer
And curiosity caused cancer
Ahh but fun IS taking chances, avoiding any rational advances
There's no reward without a risk
Impulsive entertainment on a disk
Carpal tunnel
Twitching wrists
Yeah,
Adolescents
Should have guessed

Burgeon Purge
Ian Stern Oct 2015
Love's bled,
Fear's fed,
So full of empty discouragement.

Lazy,
Jaded,
With emotional baggage

Tethered to tension
Smothered by obsession,
Stifled are desires
Damage in a vacuum.

Pulsing in this septic puddle,
Sick and stuck and still to struggle,
As I burn in morbid boredom,
I must purge before I Burgeon

Chaos breeds creation
Ian Stern Oct 2015
I know what I need and I need what I know.
I go with what I see until I see which way to go.
Dismal indeed is a dream bearing burdens,
Just As feeble as freedom when it's bound to misfortune.

I scrape against my dull surroundings,
I was lonely when you found me.
I need something new to feed from.
I am trapped by too much freedom.

Surprised by how much was forgotten
Tending to these constant problems.

But chaos breeds creation,
Once confusion becomes clear.
What was weakness now's a weapon,
Tools that free us from our fears.

Violent Ham
Ian Stern Apr 2013
Grab a turkey leg
Stuff it in my face
Poultry understands
What grown men wanna taste

Tender juicy meat
Vigorous roast beef
Stab that violent ham
We are gonna feast

Suprise
Its still alive
Writhe
I don't mind

****** red and raw
Mash it with your jaw
Our rabid spastic feast
What hungry beasts we are

There's meat stuck in my throat
But I'm too tough to choke
It's echoing the bleat
Of that tasty little goat

an abrasive engagement
Ian Stern Apr 2013
An abrasive engagement has determined this arrangement
A response to a stimuli is the stimuli for a response

Vice-versa
A counter
Two hands
Mark the hours

Now I'm tired of sleeping cause I can't record dreaming
So I sampled the examples
My brain is bathing in their brine
In this inkwell on this island
I extract some from the mine

Excessive correction fueled a cause for prevention
If you're trying too hard you'll over extend it

Water Torch

Water torch
Scorched my sink
Water here's
Not safe to drink

The government
Still claims it's clean
My dogs are dead
Lead poisoning

The mates who've drowned in hellish drains
Are honored by their stoic names
So spark your smoke and free your flame
We fearless sailors know no shame

I'm proud to die beside a friend
We'll ride these vessels to unknown ends
A cloud of smoke, three fearless grins
Our kin will brave hells seas again

Potential hides
As competition grinds,
Indecisive times,
Jealousy's here to blind.

Redundant doubts
Pollute my brain
They flash on display,
Persisting everyday.

Prove your worth,
Earn your keep.
I know it's there,
obscured and weak.

Consistency's,
just out of reach
New circumstances ignoring
Past experiences toning

No time to prepare
caught me unaware
So disaccord accordingly
In misconstrued harmony

The minority rule
In realities play
Funding any fool
Born with the right face

The majority lose
Quickly put in their place
With nothing else left to choose
Life's a competitive race.

For one when t'was two
Ian Stern Apr 2013
The tower clock is tickin' a relentless tone,
And there's still something missing from my memories tome.
A reluctant adventure to the porcelain throne,
Throwin' up on the lawn and stumbling through the town.

Well you made me think that I could be right ,
And I came to see what we could make of the night.
Now you've flushed me out of your system just fine,
But I can't do the same 'cause your name is my wine.

If I could tap into your train of thought,
I'd tie these frayed ends in a knot.
I'd wrap the doubt around a chord,
And accept what I cannot control.

The neutral between biased tides was seasoned to resolve divides.
Ideally where we'll stand our ground,
Progression takes the form of sound.

Stagnant Narrow
Ian Stern Oct 2015
Vague purpose,
Blurred focus.
Deliberate Accident

Disgusted,
We're intrigued.
Distorted,
Intact to me.
To follow,
To believe,
You're bottled up,
No release.

Stagnant Narrow,
Repressed sterile.
Stress breeding pool,
Restless feral.

Getting nowhere,
Getting nowhere,
Lethargy cares,
The calm with despair
Ian Stern Oct 2015
Insight bloats the rotund sun,
Energizing everyone.
In the effort to be different,
We are similar.
Shackled to this broken system,
Still it's prisoner.

It fades as it forms ,
As we're freed,
from our own hands that hold.

It fades as it forms,
As we're freed,
From the storm and reborn

As crooked as its crooked center,
As a symbol of surrender.
Tears that fill a forlorn corner,
I lost so much as I got older

Where i was and,
What I wanted.
How bad it burned, and
How I forgot it.

Juvenile
Ian Stern Oct 2015
Tender in the way they raised her,
Fundamental preparation.
Vital to her vestal nature,
Then pressured by the force of failure.

Just release it,
Let the sequence,
Lead you through this now.

All this *******,
Can't mislead us,
If we **** it out.

Say what you want,
Know that I and you,
Are no less than we.

So enjoy it,
every weekend,
As a juvenile.

Hold it close but,
Let it breathe cause,
You'll really need it now.

So what are we without each other?
Lonely souls that need another.
A melancholic cast of comfort,
Consumes the globe with lucid slumber.

Ian Stern Oct 2015
Dig in deep,
And **** it up.
Clench the jaw,
Don't give a ****.
Let it flow,
Blood finds its form.
Be careful not to interfere,
The end of this drawing nearer.
Stare hard into the shameful mirror,
Until your soul feels pure and clear.
Now Show yourself to every peer,

I'll stick a ******* knife in the rotting heart of fear

Fight it with flowers
Ian Stern Oct 2015
It's never enough Just to name the annoyance,
You will never be able to completely avoid it.
Fight off the hate with a fist full of flowers.
It's Hard to see past the pain when the going gets sour.

Moments full of fleeting feelings,
Just Emotions devoid of sense and reason.

So hold close the hope inside of your head,
It's a torch in the darkness of fear, doubt, and dread.
Trying cope with the weight of continuous stress,
Under Pressure and trapped in an ominous mess.

All the love that's been lost has turned into hate,
When something's so good and then just goes away.
Lost and alone in the thick grip of thought,
When you're left by your friends your heart starts to rot.

Seeds Set in stone
Ian Stern Oct 2015
Shape your sight with some sounds,
in the sky lies the ground.
Doubt your  faith,
And put faith in doubt.

Sprouting up against the sun
Are hopeful Seeds in earthen homes.
Sad are seeds trees set in stone,
Born to rot in the catacombs.

C'mon, I'll break this lazy,
Your potential is killing you.
When you're aware of ability,
But it's not being put to use.

Stuck in a web of stasis,
Void of valueable stimulation.
ThIs means much more to me than you
I bit off more than I could chew.
