"Let me tell you about Johnny White,
He preached the light,
But sinned at night,
So much so that he lost his sight,
He said I'll pray for you,
Don't act all blue,
Trust in the Lord
And He will be with you,
But he spat in the face of the King,
And said I don't need your crown or your ring,
I'd rather chase my desires,
And play with briars,
Spill some blood,
And roll around in mud
But when the sunshine comes,
He'd go back to preaching love,
He put on a mask,
and hid his flask
Of sin, regret, and all of his temptations,
When no one was looking he'd take a sip for some good vibrations,
For he was empty inside,
An empty husk that couldn't even cry,
He filled his hole with a temporary fix,
Knowing that it wouldn't do the trick,
He tried to run from the One who could solve him,
the only One trying to absolve him,
Who could take him in,
Patch him up from limb to limb,
Give him a new heart and say your in,
No, he kept running,
Listening to the one who was cunning,
believed in his lies,
And thought he could never die,
Everything was just fine,
He told people he was good,
But he was hiding behind his hood,
Until it was ripped off,
he found himself in a standoff,
It was either fall completely to your desires,
Or give up to the One who is higher,
Tears came to his blood shot eyes,
He fell to his muddy knees and looked to the sky,
But saw nothing but a starry night.
A hand reached out and gave him a fright,
He whirled around and saw the King,
the one who offered him the crown and the ring,
He was panting, and ******,
And his fine robes were all muddy,
He stretched out his hand and told him to stand,
whispering, won't you come with me to sing again?"

"Your presence makes my heart soar to the heavens,
Your captivating eyes cause fireworks in my mind,
Your cute nose makes my face glow,
Your alluring lips cause my feet to trip,
Your silky hair acts like a snare,
Beckoning me to drink in your sweet aroma,
Your warm embrace melts my poker face,
Your laughter is always sought after,
The touch of your fingers always makes me linger,
And your smile shines like an Emerald Isle,
So will you be with me, for a long while?"

"What is there to gain,
From enjoying the rain?
Is it hearing the raindrops
Pitter patter on the treetops?
Is it seeing the drenched bunny,
Scurrying home to his honey?
Or is it hearing the birds chatter away,
As if they are ready to play?
It could be the rumbling thunder
that scares some and others wonder?
Or is it the flashing lightening,
A brilliant display but rather frightening?
It could be relaxing or soothing,
A perfect time to do some snoozing,
But after a long day,
in the rainy month of May,
A good book and a cup of tea
is all that I need,
and after a while,
I might look up and smile."

"When I was a young man I was told,
Don't be a fool and don't grow cold,
Go be the sunshine so you can grow old,
So I started wearing black suits
Instead of track suits
Runnin' all over the place,
A fake smile plastered to my face,
No, I mourned daily,
For those poor souls pushing up the daisies,
I cried for the broken hearted
For the loved ones that were so regarded,
I visited the lonely man in the cell,
Who's going through hell,
I carried the casket,
For the old lady who used to make me wicker baskets,
I fed the squirrels and the doves,
with a grim face and a black pair of gloves,
You won't see me at the pub or the bar,
Drowning my sorrows and holding a lit cigar,
No, you'd see me walking down the street,
setting an example to everyone I meet,
Bending my withered back
to help the orphan boy get back on track,
Soon I grew old, and the years took their toll,
I had to use a wooden cane,
So I could hobble down the cobblestone lane,
I became blind in one eye,
but it never stopped me from looking up at that beautiful night sky,
and telling you,
please don't cry."
