Life is never guaranteed. Faith in the idea of tomorrow is all we have to carry us each day. There are no promises, just hope. Life is taken swiftly from us like sunbeams on a cloudy day. You cherish those small moments. The clarity of those moments, that feeling of pure light, is precious. Even in death, the essence of life surrounds all of us. In the light breeze in the air, the warmth in each hug, the honestly flowing through each tear. May there be a God, a heaven, a hell, what have you, there is no doubt that this life is more than the science of human existence. We carry too much love, too much depth, and far too much soul for a single explanation. We are all who we are and that is beautiful. Let us allow this day we have in our hands to flourish into a life we only dreamed we could have. Let us love with no hesitation and live with no regrets. Let us be before this life passes and we become what could have been. The past is always there, full of memories, good and bad, highs and lows, laughter and sorrow. Cherish these memories and carry them with you through your days to come. Hold dear the ones you love and find forgiveness for those who have wronged you. Laugh until you cry and cry until you find peace. Let us just live, free.
I lost my Aunt Friday and wrote this while sitting around my family, after the funeral,as they laugh and tell stories.
