Dusk
Beeeee Sep 5
At the dusk of the dreary daylapse, daylight’s endglow
I’m afflicted with that sinking semi-sorrow
It’s not enough to drown me
Just to wet my shoes
Soak my socks through
Enough to fill the back of my throat with the melody

I exist in wasted half-days, moonlight’s endless follow
It’s the time I, not enjoying, instead must always swallow
It’s a defeated sort of sadness
Loss, Lost, Lie.
I’m lonely and I can’t-- won’t say why
It’s not enough to compete with the collective unjoy’s caress
It’s just melancholy; a whisper fleeting, not a cry
I haven't been on this site in four years so take this Gerard Manly Hopkins inspired... thing

To Say Goodbye
Beeeee Jul 2020
To say goodbye is something that the untouched to easy-
They think it doesn’t matter.

To say goodbye is something that might even make them breezy-
“I’m free of that matter.”

But to say goodbye to a close friend, whom someday you’d hoped to meet?
They think it doesn’t matter.

To say goodbye when you can’t handle their cruelty, a constant feat?
“You’re free of that matter.”

They think it doesn’t matter.
It matters.

Bad Friend
Beeeee Jun 2020
Am I a bad friend if I try to sit down;
If I’m trying to take a weeks break?

Am I a bad friend if I emerge from my crying,
And try just to fix my mistake?

Am I a bad friend for making some more,
When it’s seemingly out of the blue?

Am I a bad friend for working for me,
When you think I should just work for you?

If all this is true, I’ll go down this lane.
I’ll be a bad friend to avoid all the pain.

The Perfect Friend
Beeeee Jun 2020
If I could be the perfect friend,
I’d do it all for you.

I’d push my school, my life aside,
I’d wake up drowned in blue.

If I could be the perfect friend,
I’d never make mistakes.

I’d comfort and compliment left and right-
I’d never need to take breaks.

But when it comes to what I choose,
my actions make it clear.

I could never be the friend you need,
And for that I shed a tear.

Nature’s Guardian
Beeeee Jun 2020
They men stumble onward though they’ve wandered too far.
There’s nothing above- the war shows no star.
One pulls out a matchbox, looking around-
Although it’s their territory, no enemy to be found.

The world starts to tremble, the match hits the ground.
The fire roars louder, a thunderous sound.
Behind all the culprits, the mud seems to shift.
A huge being rising, quiet and swift

Thinking they’ve been discovered, fear lights their eyes.
The noise is too loud- their bullets rain from the skies.
The fire starts to spread, reflecting their sin.
Appalling yet calling them- drawing them in.

As they stand there, a voice seems to yell.
The anger and grief in the world seems to swell.
The world seems to darken, they hear the command:
“You will pay for your actions now- war is at hand.”

Trapped in the fire, the men start to shriek.
The fire grows closer, they’re trapped in the heat.
The giant steps closer, the air seems to thin-
The men don’t quite realize the trouble they’re in.

They don’t ask for peace, doing instead
What many a soldier had done in their stead.
They pulled out their guns, bullets spraying the air.
No one stopped or cried out so the beast did declare:
“You have chosen to pay, no mercy received.
Don't plead for your lives, make no attempt to deceive.”

A roar fills the air and the world goes silent.
Visions go blurry around the giant.
Vines wrap around, threatening to choke.
The trees all around them surrounded by smoke.
“Those who dare to oppose will receive their revoke.”

The men are dragged under the ground.
They struggle and struggle but no strength can be found.
They hear a soft voice, desperate and strained.
“I won’t do this again, let the humans be changed.”

The noise starts to dim, the beast starts to shrink.
It gets smaller and smaller until in a blink,
The eyes disappear- they seem not to be linked
To the flower that holds them, as black as ink.

The years and the ages seem to fly.
A bird flutters above and a child runs by.
She sees the black flower, waving in the air.
And plucks it from the ground as if it never was there.

Not Together
Beeeee Jun 2020
This is the end,
I know it’s true.
We’ve turned ‘round the bend,
We’ve seen our last dew.
Together.
Life will go on,
It seems it can’t.
But now you’re gone,
We’ve sang our last chant.
Together.
You’ll find another,
So will I.
It’s such a bother,
To say goodbye.
When we’re not together.
