It takes a while
for me to realize
I'm not me
I'm not even here

I'm somewhere else
far away
looking in from outside
but never feeling a thing

I don't understand why
but it just is
there's nothing to do about it
no reason why it came

Sometimes its just emptiness
or numbness
or empty state of mind
But sometimes it's worse than that

Sometimes it rips me in half
with overwhelming hurt
a buzzing at my wrists
not something I can ignore

I decide to paint
something pretty
something red
my paintbrush
a pretty silver pen

God made a world
that's pure and good and clean
then put a man on it
and imagine what he'd seen

That man made a world
that's black and dark and greedy
so God placed a woman
who wasn't quite as needy

Her name was Mary
Happy, as her name might suggest
so she was given a very special gift
a cut above the rest

His name was Jesus
most blessed son of God
who gave up his life for us
so we might live at all

But once again,
man ruined his own name
so like the devil once did
so must we live in shame.

But not all of us, you see,
for some has kept his word
so God made them his very own
very special herd
This is one of the first poems I've ever made. I don't think it's terribly great
