Oh, the tragedy.
Heart Shaped boxes remain locked.
Keys held by strangers.
Weekly Haikus are a priority. Enjoy

I would smile with honest glee
If I could watch the froth of the sea
For the rest of my life,
Leaving behind all folly and strife.

It is true, I have no doubt—
Among the waves there is a route
For every man, woman, and child
The key to happiness unbridled.

I know it’s been some time since last we spoke,
I’m serious this time, I promise it isn’t a joke.
Lord, know that I am lost once more.
I’m embarrassed, but, your forgiveness I implore.
For with each prayer I think you’ll find
That my faith in you only seems to decline.

What is true beauty?
Your wide, one of a kind smile,
My definition.

You’re back where you started.
It’s sort of poetic, wouldn’t you agree?
Life goes in circles,
That’s just the tale of you and me.

These feelings are temporary;
Current hopes and aspirations are fleeting,
How will you reinvent yourself next year?
Which version of you will I be meeting?

I have grown so tired of this game,
Hopefully you do not mind.
Reject this path of samsāra,
For I am certain you shall find

Relief as you release
And allow yourself to cry.
You keep saying it’s different now,
But do you really believe that lie?

I took off my mask for you,
You left yours on.
I called you a fake friend,
You said I was wrong.

I saw you in the library,
You didn’t look me in the eye.
I look in the mirror now, thinking
You were right, and I’m living the lie.

Will I find what I’m looking for as I cruise these empty streets?
Or will disappointment once again fill my empty passenger seats?
How fast can I go before I find myself slipping?
The past behind, speeding ahead, the feeling is so gripping.
