The sun scorching my skin,
I climb ever higher
Treading on countless worlds,
I want to know more about you
Obstinant, you put up walls
I push through them, careless of the consequences
The sky turns dark, and I get lost in you
I slip and fall, but you catch me
You hold my hand, and I am safe again
Your rage is felt against the Rocky shore
I wade into you, and you push me back
But you recognize me, and I feel you soften
As you rock me gently to sleep
Untamed, never fully known
Sometimes gentle, often deadly
You have a mind of your own
Perhaps, it is impossible to know
But therein lies the adventure
Home, you are not
Nor, as some would claim, are you paradise
Why, what paradise would **** and entrap so many of it's children?
No, you are not divine
You are grounded
In the soil beneath our feet, the wind at our backs
The moss on the trees, and the waves warring with the reefs
In these isles, I see adventure
In you, I see life
I went to Hawaii with my friends during Spring Break, and I was blown away by how beautiful everything was. The nature there was completely breathtaking yet somehow very intimate.
