How high must we climb to satisfy our needs?
Is it ‘giving up’ to settle before the tallest peak?
It’s easier to fall where the stars and top meet
This breathtaking view will sweep you off your feet

We lose sight of our start and finish lines when we trek on this plight
Some are frozen in time along the way
Keep your motivation in mind and flap your wings into flight
The price may prove too heavy to pay

Lose yourself or achieve greatness;
Why does it have to be this way?
It’s okay to be great with patience
The toll fee is cheaper to pay

Climb or fall-
Will you risk it all?

What is a man who holds his hand, when it’s time to play his cards
For a man who lives without a plan is nay a man a’tall
And in the life of a goalless man, you’ll never get too far
When said a man can stand no more, he totters then he falls

Upon the tallest ladder is where you can find me
Rungs in both hands and under toe!
But when you’re on this ladder do you see your hands, or do you see your feet?
To see me you ought not look down below

For I atop this ladder stand, I made it here, I followed my plan
You’re close to the top, don’t give up, don’t stop
Look up in the sky, I’m waiting for you to take my hand
Lest loose your fear, it’s the promise land, we’ve made it to the top

This new world is yours- have fun, stay young;
But when you close your eyes don’t forget where it begun,
Cuz’ when you were on this ladder you swore you’d never forget a rung
You started as nobody and now you are someone

There comes a time in life, when you are presented with a chance
It’s okay to hesitate for there is much to contemplate
There comes a time in life when you may pause to take a glance,
Fear not to lose your way for there is guidance in this maze

Through tunnels and dark rows you may wander with weary strolls
You won’t lose sight, other senses will follow the light
Over mountains and out of holes, you’ll boldly strive to achieve your goals
It takes some time and an eager mind to venture on this plight

At the end of this endeavor awaits for you a priceless treasure
A jewel so fine it may even blow your mind
You may cash in now or add to it forever
Behold a life for you, that’s blissful and divine

Be forewarned- it’s a perilous journey, and it does get rather lonely
Head up, eyes open to look for me
You’ll persevere, it’s a skill that you own wholly
Release your energy, and lastly let yourself believe

Though it may prove misconstrued
I have a view
You could be misconstrued too,
But like me, you have a view

So seek clear perceptions and learn valuable lessons
Don’t hate, discriminate or labor under overcompensation
Release negative energy through micro aggressions
Bad thoughts pollinate and eradicate bias based, abhorrent conversation

Reconcile for awhile-
Innocent until proven otherwise in a trial
What could be worse than a judge in denial?
Realizing you’re serving a self-sentenced exile

I’ve escaped a prison with nay a window,
How my view has enhanced; after my crescendo

Dates change and days stay the same
Black as pitch sets in each night
Memories flood like blankets of rain
Darkness always ends by light

Is time a segment or a line?
Does it travel in one, inevitable direction?
What happens to time, when we die?
Does it abide by the same mortal infliction?

What does it mean; when time runs out?
How do you stop the show from being over?
I’d rather live timeless, than in a mental drought
Does the timeline move? Is that how we get older?

Can we only travel one way?
If two, what to choose?
Only you can say-
Backwards? Sure. What’s there to lose?

Down this lane we relive our best days-
Down this way, we re-endure our worst
One extreme price is due to pay-
Ejecto seato doesn’t work in a hearse

So what will it be, Traveller?
Will you set cruise, and write the end you choose?
Will you relive days of the same?
Or will you strive to make great memories, anew?

Summer fell and arose; my demise
Vibrant green is replaced by dead leaves
Friends that laughed now secretly cry
The herbal tree lacked the rush that I fiend

Foliage falls and skies pale
Daylight is rushed by the setting sun
It’s hard to pretend I won’t fail
The next phase of my life has begun

Dedication is hard to maintain in such a busy brain
Winds gust, gentle breezes blow
How much longer until the rain?
Turns white and covers me in snow

Winter is hard to face in solitude
My mind and body lust love
The battle wavers; my thoughts misconstrue
No light shines down from above

Still I stand; hunched and incomplete
I shudder at the growing pile-
Of freezing snow building at my feet
No longer I labor in denial

What I failed to leave in the past
I now welcome as an old friend
Live free and die fast
Live like you’ll never live again

In the midst of Summers’ Fall, I’ve finally heard our great Lords call.
Thru trial and error, o’er many seasons filled with all weather, today I triumph upon my darkest endeavor.
From His words, though formerly neglected, I’ve come to learn my fate has not yet been infected.
The disease of which I speak, that makes my nose bleed and keeps me on my feet has been vanquished and suffers a complete defeat.
Shrouded and veiled behind an eternal void of pitch I shall arise to greet thee in a new world filled with great tree and settle peacefully in my new niche.
In the world that He’s created there’s a picture that I’ve painted, my best days to come and I will indeed be acquainted, with gracious acceptance my heart has been inflated.
I foresee a new destiny, where there was White there is Green. What future was unseen I now see through an eye oh so keen.
In the midst of Summers’ Fall, today I stand confident and tall.
