I know you can see my eyes light up
And the way my crooked smile cracks so easily
I know you can see through me
Into the depths where no one is allowed to be
I know you can hear me
My laugh, my cry, the worry
But do you know how my heart feels?
Can you feel the way it seems to falter?
If I could hold it in my hands
You'd see all of the scars
If you could see the fights I've fought
Could you hold onto it too?
Or would it scar you the same?
When I am here all alone
It's all in my head
I know you feel the way I do
Why can't these walls just break down?
Will the fear of everything just leave us alone?
Or will it pry and eat until our very last breath
Because where is the beauty in that?
The life I can dream of
It is all the beauty and none of the pain
It's always too good to be true
But I promise I won't lose sight
I've seen dreams come to life
and my scars can prove it
even if they hide like monsters in the night
resilience is all about pride

Through the coldest of winter's
And the breeze of the fall
Into the blistering summer
I want you there for it all
Your skin on my own
Allows me to breathe
If only for a second
You're all I can see
The feeling deep in my bones
Though all this love that we have grown
For it hasn't been easy
With hearts made of stone
But there are cracks
And the light shines through
We will get through it all together
Even if it's just me and you
We will fall
And we will stumble
But through it all
I trust we can be
Lovers together
In this deep dark sea
Where monsters may lurk
And the shadows so dark
I'll hold on so tight
And hope we never part

I don't think you realize
what I see when I look into your eyes
I see our future and our past
All of it swirling like the oceans tides
With every breath we take
I know what forever looks like
I don't think you realize
The way that your hand fits mine
It's like the first rush of sunlight
After a long dark night
It feels so well crafted
Like they are meant to be intertwined
I don't think you realize
The way the music resonates
When you choose the sweetest melodies
And sing so loudly next to me
I don't think you realize
The way my body was made for you
With every touch and every kiss
The butterflies never seem to dissipate
Finally we both realize
The way our lives were meant to be
Next to each other, day by day
Our bodies intertwined
For a life like we had never known

You have no clue
Well maybe you do
Since I know my heart beats just like you
You would know the way my stomach feels
With butterflies and breath being taken from me
You'd know the way our lips meet
And the way we kiss so softly
The love I feel
It's just like yours
The pain
The suffering too
Because I see straight into those blue eyes
As if we were the same
Your skin on mine has always been such a dream
I know this ring upon my finger
May just be a material thing
But the love it exudes means the world
No one can take away the way I feel
The way I need you next to me
I'll love you until the day I die
And always long for you by my side

I hope you know
The impact you have on me
The way you turn those dark days
Into sunshine
The little things
The big things
All of it means so much to me
I hope the smile that I have
Can show you this my dear
The way you make
Every day worth it
The way you take
My heart and mend it
I see true love
For the first time in life
The way it feels
Each and every night
The days are so blissful
I love you, my dear
Please know I want you for life
I promise to treat you right
The ring on my finger
And the vow I'll speak
I'll stand here forever
Especially when you're weak
Hold on to me my love
I promise you to never leave
Please stay right here forever
You're such a dream to me
I love you.

It was as if I stood upon the same burning embers every day of the week.
The flicker of them dying was the only peace to me.
The pain that was inflicted hardly made me flinch.
It was as if I'd die here, but it didn't make any sense.
These embers, they glow in the wind, they change shape and burn into your skin.

When the rain started falling, at first I didn't even feel it.
The downpour that came next got me out of my head.
The pain I was feeling, died with every scared breath.
Just when I thought I would burn like the rest
You came and saved me, like a bird coming back to its nest

Because now I can see the fire
In such a different way
The light hits me differently
and I can tell you feel the same

When you feel like you can't breathe,
please remember how you were there for me
The way my hand felt on yours
and our first kiss, nervous in your car.

Now we see, there is smoke before fire
Because at the end of the day when the seas calm
I'll be there, your fire, until the day is through.
We can laugh until our faces turn blue
I'd waste every day with you
