He takes all but the last four squares of toilet paper out of every restroom he enters
He never refills the ice trays
He dumps all the juice out of the pickle container, and leaves the pickles with the lid off
He slits long openings into window screens
He cuts the wicks off too short on candles
He goes on the office morning coffee run, and gets everyone decaf
OK.  I’m lying
He doesn’t do any of those things
But he’s still a ****

Who knows, maybe you were kidnapped
*******, taken away, and held for ransom
Honey, it don’t really matter to me
Everybody’s had to fight to be free
You don’t have to live like a refugee

I asked for his attention
Demanded it, really
So I shouldn’t have got caught up
When he gave it to me
Look at me now
Just some poor fishy
Caught on the sand
Flopping around to get back in the sea
Once again to swim free
But more importantly
Just to breathe
Luckily
I’m a great flopper
Lot of kick
And I got great lung

Each kick brings me back to the sea

Walt Disney’s favorite character was Goofy
I don’t know why I find that so poetic
Maybe I’m just doofy
Poor Mickey must have suffered so
Pasting on that smile
Fronting the whole band
And yet the boss was favoring

Cow/dog/man

I might not be broken enough for him
He seems to respond to sob stories
He wants to ride in on low expectations
Held by women who
Don’t know how to choose men
Here he comes
Gentle and kind
To blow their otherwise beaten mind
Give a little confidence
Spring in the step
And he’s on to the next
Telling himself he’s such a gent

We dance in public
Yet alone
With the music we make in our minds

Sometimes from across the room
Using only our eyes

I know you
And you probably know me
I see you in your poetry
One of you
Is really sweet
A romantic on the sly
Pretending to be the
“I don’t care” guy

Salt of the Earth
So in touch with emotions
Old soul, who must have been created
With the Big Bang
Some sort of one celled creature
Now evolved into the most complicated
Yet simple man
One of you
Must have had some
Recent reckoning
Face to face with some unforgivable sin
You’ve found yourself in repentance
And it’s become your everything
Another is so sweet and supportive
Friendliness for everyone
Are you giving something you’re craving
