I exhaled
and watched you go
as the smoke cleared
your warmth remained
a constelation
of condensation
the essence of me
caught on the window
I traced your name
and thought...
window pain

In her poetic attraction
She found satisfaction
And the man in her bed
Was not the man in her head
He would never share the beauty
She held in her mind
As she watched him sleep
Knowing full well
He was blind
But a poets mind
Is hard to find
And loneliness
Is none too kind
So she swallowes her pride
Lying ,
With the man in her bed
While drifting off
To the one in her head

Penny for your thought?
I know it's not much
But it's all I got

The air is heavy and hot
I need your touch
Too much... I can not

Are you the man I sought
I have a hunch
But it's all I got

Wants forever fought
I need you a bunch
To much... I can not

These feelings will surely rot
Becoming my much
But it's all I got

Your secrets can't be bought
Price tag reads zilch
Too much... I can not
Sorry to put you on the spot

She jotted the moment
Capturing it in essence
   And he watched
As she scribbled
  Short life lessons
She wanted to remember
The hunger in his eyes
  As her pen jotted on
       It could tell no lies
  She wrote the word lonely
           In a silent cry
   This man was no poet
Left only to question
        Why?

Hail to thee
  Thy restless
    Queen
       Shant let
Her subjects
      Down
For these things
    She has seen
   She bare
      Thy heavy
    Crown

In our black
& white battle
  A pawn
Took her rook
   As she leapt
Into saddle
Sworn to behead
   All pawns & crooks

She rules by her rules
  As she captures the knight
        Jesters and fools
   Shant distract her tonight

For thy queen
   Shant find sleep
In this kingdom
    Of hate
  Her word
     She shall keep
She will have her
  Check Mate
