high strung and stressed out
        beliefs
            images

          tainted with the

Mental mountains
gorges
euphoric highs
lows
morbid in their
faerytale fantasie

I am aware
of your
used acrid air
heavenly
on my skin
your flesh grinding
my brittle bones
Slick secretions slip
like liquid rotting fruit
gagging me, infesting my being

Your death is weaving
cold and desire charged through
my straining ribs
wrapping frost-bitten fingers around
my coal-pitted heart

We are immortalized
together
I am forever stained
with your essence

My soul is on fire
smoking as it burns
but the smoke detector is lying
gutted and useless
on the cold cement floor

My heart is smoldering
crackling and shriveling
but all the water is dripping
bitter and filthy

My sanity is decaying
oozing and slipping
sliding and trickling
and my mind is in the basket

Tender scalps
swollen lips
numb fingers
and bruised hips
tooth and claw
tear tender flesh
tears fall
the pain fresh
fingers clasped
sobs and gasps
...breathe
           I can’t
a sigh heaved
incant soft whispers
mantras in darkness
Chaos, my lover.

Every bruise heals

every tear becomes salt

a new day will dawn

Frigid wind
whips willing skin
change of seasons

Once upon a time
I did not know how
to accept true love

I am the open book

         no one bothers to read

I am the shoulder

         no one needs to cry on

I am the mind

         no one wants to be inside

I am the voice

         no one yearns to hear
